Ralph Fiennes to take on Harry Potter (Go To Top)

         London: After starring in critically acclaimed movies like "The English Patient" and "Schindler's List," British hunk Ralph Fiennes is all set to star as Voldermort in the hugely popular "Harry Potter" series. According to The Daily Mail, the 42-yaer old actor is in talks with the filmmakers, to play the part of Harry's arch enemy, Voldermort, who also killed his parents according to the books. If the deal comes through, Fiennes will appear in the next Potter flick "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." He will also appear in the next three films in the series. "Oh, he'd be really good, but there's no one in place yet. Obviously, they are speaking to people, but that role has not yet been cast," said a spokesperson for the film.

         London: They might have been divorced for three years now but it seems family especially kids come first for Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman for they have devoted their summer to their two children. According to Hello, the duo is all set to go holidaying in Sydney with their kids, 11-year-old Isabella and nine-year-old Conor for two months. Both have taken a break from their busy filming schedule for the vacation. The two have apparently come close since Tom's break-up with Spanish actress Penelope Cruz, and Nicole's split from rocker Lenny Kravitz. "Tom and Nicole made it a priority to share the children and the kids are now on a mission to reunite their parents," a source was quoted as saying.

          London: David Walker was drunk when he was putting a shotgun in his pocket that went off and shot him in the groin. Doctors were forced to remove his testicles during emergency surgery. According to The Sun, Walker had a prohibited weapon and the sentence for it is 5 years. His defence barrister told the court that he still has to undergo surgery to remove pellets from his leg and that at the time of the incident "his mind was a blank". Judge Patrick Robertshaw reportedly told him "You face the inevitability of custody given the recent change in the law for the offence to which you have pleaded guilty."

Collection of greatest Britney hits, to be out soon (Go To Top)

          New York: Fans of Pop diva Britney Spears, are in for a treat, the singer plans to release a greatest hits album which will be out by this Christmas. According to gossip website POPDIRT.COM, the singer plans to release the collection named,"Hits" on 16 November, just a year after her last album 'In The Zone' hit shops.The star may also quit record label Jive soon after. "On November 16th, just in time for the holidays, Britney Spears will release her fifth album. The album is a collection of her singles and it is called, Hits," a source was quoted as saying by ratethemusic.com. "It will come in a two disc limited edition collection or a regular one disc CD. The album will span her first four albums and will include rare and unreleased material," he added. "The release of this album will end Britney's five album obligation to Jive. It is undecided at the moment whether a re- signing is in order," the source further revealed.

         London: Letters written by acclaimed director Richard Burton to actress Elizabeth Taylor have come up for sale at a UK auction house Bonhams. The previously unreleased letters shed light on the relationship between Burton and Taylor. The correspondence, which is being sold by an anonymous vendor also mentions that the actor hated his chosen profession. In the letters, Burton wrote to his employees about Elizabeth that, "she wants to remain a famous film star. What the stupid, occasionally maniac doesn't realise, is that she is already immortalised as a film person forever."

        Washington: Pop diva Jessica Simpson has been named Hollywood's hottest and richest woman by Star magazine. The young star owes her zooming bank balance to her many talents, which include being a singer, actress and a TV show host. According to Star magazine, the singer earned a total of 4 million dollars last year and gets a whopping 20,000 dollars per episode for her show "Newlyweds," which she hosts along with husband Nick Lachey. However, Jessica attributes her success to her hard work, "I haven't had a day off in weeks, and I'm tired, it's something I've worked so hard for. I've worked hard to be this tired!" she said. The report also named former "Destiny's Child" singer Beyonce Knowles as the second richest woman in Hollywood and it's obvious why, the "Crazy in Love" singer splurged 9 million dollars on two condos last year and was paid 4.5 million dollars to be the brand ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger's "True Star" range of fragrances. Oscar winner Angelina Jolie was the third on the rich list after she reportedly got 15 million dollars for her role in "Mr and Mrs Smith". She also earned 12 million dollars for her role as Lara Croft in "Lara Croft Tomb raider, Cradle of Life".

Benet to squeeze huge money from Halle Berry in divorce battle (Go To Top)

          Washington: Halle Berry has filed for divorce from her philandering husband Eric Benet and Hollywood insiders have revealed that he wants to get as much money as he can from the Oscar-winning actress. Benet is currently challenging the pre-nuptial agreement they had signed at the start of their 32-month marriage and he is reportedly using his 12-year-old daughter India as a pawn. "Eric has demanded insane amounts of money to maintain his lifestyle. He's telling Halle that India, too, is starting to suffer and has become withdrawn because she was taken out of that lifestyle 'so abruptly,'" The Star quoted a source as saying. Halle and India have been close ever since the 'Gothika' actress and Eric became serious about their relationship in the late 90s. Halle had accepted India, whose biological mother died in an accident, when she got married to Benet in January 2001. "I'm all she's got as far as a mother goes. It feels as if she's my own. She calls me mommy," said Halle.
