Britney to get married on Nov 20 (Go To Top)

         Washington: 'Will she' or 'wont she' is the question everybody has been asking, and now it has been confirmed that pop diva Britney Spears is all set to take the wedding vows with boyfriend Kevin Federline. According to reports, the 'Toxic" singer's spokesperson has confirmed that Britney and dancer boyfriend Kevin recently got engaged after he popped the question last week. Star magazine has meanwhile claimed that the wedding will taker place on November 20, either in LA or Louisiana, which is Britney's home town. According to the report, the couple has already met a wedding planner. The wedding is expected to be a 200 guest affair featuring 5 bridesmaids and an equal number of groomsmen. The marriage, which is a second for the 22-year old singer, after her whimsical 55-hour marriage with childhood pal Jason Alexander, which took place early this year, is the first for Kevin, although he has two children with former girlfriend "Moesha" star Shar Jackson. The two have been dating since the past two months and Kevin has moved in with Britney in her LA mansion, where she is recuperating from her knee surgery, which took place earlier this month.

Diana had planned to marry Dodi (Go To Top)

         New York: Lady Diana was reportedly making plans to marry Dodi Fayed before her death in 1997. According to her authorised biographer Andrew Morton, she had asked an Anglican priest whether as a Muslim and a Christian, they could marry in his church, and he had agreed. According to The New York Daily News, Diana had wanted to stay at a friend's house at the Hamptons over the summer but the British security service had forbidden her to go there. She then went on holiday with her sons William and Henry and Dodi and his father Mohamed Al Fayed.

Madonna 'reinvents' her route to Israel (Go To Top)

          New York: Madonna intends to visit Israel in October with a group of over 100 students. The singer, who had to cancel three stops in Israel as part of her Reinvention tour due to terrorist threats will now visit holy places with the students who share her enthusiasm for Jewish mysticism. According to the Israeli paper Maariv, the star will live in a secluded guest house to avoid fans and the media.

'Limp' German men instructed to have more sex! (Go To Top)

         London: German men are being encouraged to spend more time between the sheets with their partners to boost birth rates or risk being branded as limp. Johannes Singhammer, MP and father of six, said that Germany's ageing population needs to produce more children to sustain its over-stretched pensions system. "Children are our future. Germans need to work more on that in bed," The Sun quoted Singhammer as saying. "Things must not get to the stage where German men are scoffed at abroad for being limp," he added.

Michael Moore gets death threats (Go To Top)

         New York: After receiving a lot of fame and adulation for his controversial documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11," director Michael Moore is now receiving death threats. According to The New York Daily News, the Oscar winning director, who might just cause President Bush to lose this year's election, came with a lot of security at the Washington premiere of his movie and insiders revealed that "there have been major threats from some very sick people." Meanwhile, the advertisements for the movie, which show a stammering Bush have also raised an outcry from Republican activists, who have demanded that the ad be removed from air as it violates the campaign finance law. The law bans the use of corporate money for advertising a presidential candidate, two months before the general elections. However, Moore is not worried about the objections, " it is a blatant attempt to stop people from seeing my movie. I am concerned about whether or not the FEC will think I paid Citizens United to raise these issues. How else can you explain the millions of dollars of free publicity this right-wing group has given the movie," the report quoted Moore as saying.

Madonna dishes out gin and Kabbalah cocktails (Go To Top)

          Washington: Guests at Madonna's Re-Invention tour launch party literally got a taste of the pop diva's newly adopted religion, Kabbalah, as she served them cocktail's mixed with Kabbalah water. According to Ratethemusic.com, at the "American Life" singer's party, guests were served with a cocktail called "Damn," which was a mix of gin and soda lime. However, Madonna made sure that all the ice cubes in the drinks were made out of special Kabbalah water.

Halle Berry has a new boyfriend (Go To Top)

          New York: She might be going through an acrimonious divorce with her estranged husband Eric Benet but Halle Berry has found a new companion to brighten up her days. According to New York Daily News, the Monster's Ball actress was spotted at a Beverly Hills bistro with Michael Ealy, who co-stars with her in the Oprah-produced TV movie "Their Eyes Were Watching God." Halle seemed "very protective" of the actor, who starred in "Barbershop" and "2 Fast 2 Furious", a source reported.

Eminem voted most powerful person in the music industry (Go To Top)

         London: A survey by Q magazine has revealed that rapper Eminem is considered the most powerful man in the music industry. According to The Sun, the bad boy of the music industry won over rock icons like Bob Dylan who was voted as the 26th most powerful musician and Sir Paul McCartney who was listed at number 16. "U2" frontman Bono piped "Coldplay" singer Chris Martin to the 9th spot on the list, which named the 100 most powerful people in the music industry. Britney Spears was voted as the 17th most powerful artist. The survey threw up more surprises as the creator of iPod, Jonathan Ive tied up with Apple boss Steve Job to be voted at the second spot. The two were chosen because of their contribution to the music industry.

Outrage over Brits wild sex orgy cruise (Go To Top)

         London: The alleged sex orgy involving 100 Britons on a cruise ship on way to Cyprus, that was secretly photographed by the police has sparked off an outrage. According to The Mirror, police officials on the island are now planning to arrest the people involved in the orgy, after the explicit film was shown on local television. A senior police officer has revealed that nude tourists ranging from 18 to 30, mainly British and some Scandinavians, were snapped indulging in sleazy sex acts in the cruise that set out from the scandal hit clubbing resort Ayia Napa. "These scenes are not just graphic, they go beyond every conceivable limit. We are talking total debauchery," the report quoted the Island deputy chief of police, Sotiris Haralambous, as saying. Pictures of naked people displayed on Cypriot Mega TV has stunned the deeply religious local population but any prosecution would need Interpol arrest warrants as the 30 pounds-a-ticket 'Fantasy Boat Party' took place in international waters.

Top 10 favourite books of men and women, have nothing in common (Go To Top)

         London: A survey by Tesco.com, which questioned four thousand readers, has found that men and women are poles apart when it comes to reading preferences, especially on the beach. According to The Sun, while women's all time favourite read was "Rider by Jilly Cooper, "High Fidelity" by Nick Hornby topped the men's wish list. Amazingly not a single book was found to be the common choice between men and women.

High Street is Britian's most popular road name (Go To Top)

         London: A new research conducted by Britain's biggest mortgage lender Halifax has revealed that High Street is the most popular road name in the UK, followed by Station Road and Main Street. According to Daily Mail, the survey which analysed the addresses of 2.5 million mortgage holders, came across 5,410 High Streets, 3,811 Station Roads and 2,702 Main Streets. Church Road and Church Street emerged as the fifth and sixth most popular place names, while Church Lane and St John's Road also made it into the top 25. Other street names in the top 50 included Green Lane, Manor Road, Mill Lane, School Lane, Grange Road and Highfield Road. Names such as Queen, King, Victoria, John, Alexandra, George, Albert and Windsor street that reflected the country's royal heritage all made it into the top 50. Other road names to make the list included place names such as London Road, and York Road and food related streets like Pie Corner, Egg Lane and Bacon Drive. "Street names reflect the heritage of the UK. As a result names cover heroes from military history, great parliamentarians, figures from the world of art, history, music, poetry and literature, as well as girls' names, boys' names and tree names," the paper quoted Craig Donaldson, head of mortgage products at Halifax as saying.
