`Womanising' guru Sri Chinmoy has huge following at the UN

         New York: A cult guru accused of womanising is now trying to project himself as an advocate of peace. According to The New York Post, Sri Chinmoy, who has been accused of molesting women, has several followers at the UN headquarters here, who have been tasked with the responsibility of promoting him as a campaigner for world peace. Sri Chinmoy reportedly has 60 UN clerical workers and mid-level managers as his followers and operates from his home in Jamaica.

Hollywood actresses now breaking the glass ceiling: Halle Berry (Go To Top)

          London: Actress Halle Berry believes that women are now ready to break through the glass ceiling in the action- hero genre that is Hollywood. Halle's journey as an action star in the film industry has been phenomenal. She climbed from ensemble player in 2000's 'X-Men' to James Bond's adventurous co-star in 2002's Die Another Day to the lead action star in just-to-be released 'Catwoman'. Other female stars joining the action bandwagon are Angelina Jolie in 'Tomb Raider' films and Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz in 'Charlie's Angels'. "We're changing a little bit as a society and a culture, where now women are becoming more empowered," Ananova quoted Halle as saying. "Women are infiltrating the work force a lot more. We are raising families on our own now. We are sort of doing it for ourselves in a brand-new way. I think these movies are reflective of that, the way we are evolving as women, and I think you're going to see more and more of them," added the 'Catwoman'.

`Titanic' director James Cameron is now Dr James Cameron (Go To Top)

         London: James Cameron, the director of super successful film 'Titanic' was honoured by a university for his contribution to marine science and maritime archaeology. According to Ananova, Cameron was presented with the honorary degree of doctor of The University of Southampton. Ironically, Southampton is the home port of the ill-fated ship which sank on its maiden passenger voyage across the Atlantic. Cameron had first visited the wreck of the Titanic in 1995 and his 1997 epic feature film, included real footage of the wreck on the ocean floor. "I am deeply gratified to be receiving an honorary degree from a university that is so distinguished in the research of ocean sciences," said Cameron. The degree reflects Cameron's work in developing new underwater film and remote vehicle technology to dive down and explore the sunken white vessel.

Pam 'Baywatch' Anderson bares her sexy sexcapades (Go To Top)

           New York: Buxom blonde Hollywood siren Pamela Anderson has turned novelist, coming out with 'Star', a sexy, sizzling beach read. Published by Atria Books and priced at 24 dollars, the book will be formally released on August 3. It recounts the adventures of a sexy but naive small-town woman who lands a cover for a Playboy- like men's magazine, and then goes on to realise her dreams in Hollywood, the New York Post reports. Anderson frankly admits that the novel is a take on her life, that included sexual romps with several rock stars. When asked who has had more sex, Pam or her fictional alter ego, the paper quoted the Baywatch babe as saying, " I think we're both running even," adding with a chuckle, "but not at the moment. Anderson's ghost writer, Eric Shaw Quinn, says the book is sexually explicit. "I hope that there's enough (sex). "That was what we were shooting for. I don't think anybody will come to this book looking for the quiet read," he was quoted as saying. Anderson says publishers Simon and Schuster "wanted more." What they got was more Pam. The author is nearly nude on the book's jacket - with just a few strategically placed stars on her ample curves.

          London: Teenaged singing sensation Charlotte Church was not allowed to visit a night club, which is famous for its notorious live sex shows, by her managers. According to The Sun, the star wanted to visit Manumission, a hot night club in Ibiza with her friends, but her management did not permit her to do so. "There has been a bit of tension. But Charlotte is a huge star and knew that somewhere famous for a sex show would be bad for her image," a source was quoted as saying.

Kylie Minogue retains her `Best Bum' title (Go To Top)

          London: When it comes to bums, no one can beat Kylie Minogue, not even DJ Sassy! According to recent poll conducted by The Sun, readers have again crowned Kylie as the possessor of world's best bottom with 31 percent votes. This poll has nipped all the claims made by DJ Sassy to snatch away the title from Kylie, who got only 24 percent votes. Colombian supermodel Sofia Vergara came at the third slot. Earlier, Sassy had challenged Kylie's best bums title and had criticized her bottom calling it "too small".

Colin Farrell gets waxed in Madame Tussauds (Go To Top)

          London: Actor Colin Farrell will have a waxwork in a Madame Tussaud's exhibition that opens on July 30. According to the Sun, the "Alexander" star will be featured in the film's costume as part of the exhibits on warriors.

71-year old Kenyan woman marries 19-year old toy boy (Go To Top)

         Johannesburg: A 71-year old Kenyan woman has married a 19-year-old student. According to Ananova, Nyanginda wa Ngugi denies that she is a "cradle-snatcher" and says that she is happy that her young husband, "following the will of God", chose her as his wife. According to The Esat African Standard, Nyanginda has three children and lives with her husband, James Mburu Kamau, and her 33-year old son. Kamau has said that neither threats nor force will make him abandon the wife that God has ordered him to marry. "I am not going back to school. Never! I discovered that I have been living a lie all my life. Now I have discovered God and happiness," he was quoted as saying.

Lisa Marie Presley hopes to be fourth time lucky (Go To Top)

          New York: Singer Lisa Marie Presley is confident that she has found the man of her dreams in Michael Lockwood. The star who had three failed marriages now plans to marry Lockwood, as she feels that she is truly in love with him. According to ratethemusic.com, Lisa who was once married to Michael Jackson and Nicholas Cage, met Lockwood, a musician, on a tour. "It took me 36 years of a lot of accidents and mistakes to get to the point where I finally met the perfect person for me," she was quoted as saying in the Vogue magazine. "If I get married again, it will be for the right reasons. I can actually say that Lockwood is the first person I've really thought this way about - 'Oh, this is what love is.' I want to get old with him," she added.
