          Washington: Pop star Britney Spears surprised shoppers in Malibu, California, by downing shots and eating junk food in the street at lunchtime. The `Toxic' star was moving around with new beau Kevin Federline and stopped to buy chips, orangeade, and a miniature bottle of whisky. Onlookers were shocked by the scruffy appearance of the pop diva as she drained the whisky bottle dry. "I had to look twice. It didn't even look like Britney. Her hair was a mess and she looked like she was wearing his jeans, they were so long. The only giveaway was her bling-bling engagement ring," rate the music quoted an onlooker as saying.

          Washington: Rock star Lenny Kravitz has found new love in the shape of Barbara Feltus, Boris Becker's ex-wife, after his traumatic split from Nicole Kidman. According to rate the music, the `American Woman' singer was seen with Barbara at a London after-show party for `Spiderman-II'. "They arrived together looking very happy," revealed an onlooker. Kravitz was dumped by Nicole last December and Barbara broke-up with the tennis champion after discovering that he had fathered a child with model Angela Ermakova while she was pregnant.

          London: She might have gained worldwide notoriety for her alleged affair with soccer star David Beckham, but Rebecca Loos is now set to reveal ways to get rich at the Edinburgh TV Festival. According to Ananova, Loos, 26, will be there as a panelist in a debate on checkbook journalism next month. She has reportedly made over 500,000 pounds by selling her story first in the News of the World, and then on an interview to Sky One.

Giorgio Armani wants a heir at 70 (Go To Top)

          London: Fashion icon Giorgio Armani, who turned 70 last week, is looking for a heir to take over his renowned fashion label. Armani, who has dressed up the likes of Russell Crowe, Sharon Stone, the British football team, Ashley Judd and Queen Rania of Jordan, first shot to fame in the 1980's as he created the outfits for Richard Gere's character in the movie "American Gigolo." "Obviously, the company is very tied to me and its independence is very tied to my name. It would be very selfish for me to think, 'OK, tomorrow I'm not going to be here, so that's it. That's the end of everything.' So, I do have to think about it," Hello magazine quoted Armani as saying.

         London: The Beckhams are big fans of fast food giant McDonalds. It was revealed recently when they went out for a meal at a McDonalds outlet rather than having the meal prepared by Sir Elton John's 6000 pounds-a-month Chef. According to The Sun, the football ace and his singer wife, Victoria, skipped the meal prepared for them at Sir Elton's South of France villa, where they are currently vacationing, and visited the nearest McDonalds outlet instead.

Leonardo Di Caprio is no Howard Hughes: Jane Russell (Go To Top)

          London: Screen legend Jane Russell does not think Leonardo Di Caprio is the correct choice to play the eccentric aircraft designer and filmmaker Howard Hughes, who was also responsible for her rise to fame. According to Ananova, the "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" actress, who had a long association with Hughes, a billionaire, thinks Di Caprio will not be able to do justice to the role because he does not look the part. Di Caprio is to portray Hughes in the movie "The Aviators," which will be released later this year and tells the story of Hughes life, achievements, disabilities and his years as a recluse. "He is a really nice boy, but he doesn't look like Howard at all, It should have been a Jimmy Stewart-type - a long, thin guy," the report quoted Russell, 83, as saying.

          London: Hollywood hunk Ben Affleck has reverted to his grubby bachelor ways since his splitting with Jennifer Lopez. According to This Is London, the otherwise impeccably dressed star, has recently been seen roaming around in a disheveled state. During his fleeting romance with the Latino diva, Affleck took special care to groom himself. But now he is reportedly back to his old ways.

          London: Movie actor Tobey Maguire shed tears while enjoying a spicy Indian curry meal before attending the 'Spiderman 2' premiere. Tobey ordered a selection of dishes, including lentil and Tadka Dal, Saag Paneer and a selection of breads and rices from swish Mayfair restaurant 'Tamarind'- delivered to his penthouse suite at London's Dorchester Hotel. "It was mostly vegetarian stuff, but a few of the dishes were food and wanted to fill up before his big night," The Mirror quoted a source as saying.

Mule 'gives birth' to a foal (Go To Top)

           London: Defying biological genetics, Haa, a golden yellow mule from the village of Dorikha in Bhutan recently given birth to a black foal, reports Ananova. Dorikha's livestock officer, Jigme Wangchuk said that such incidents rarely happen in Bhutan, the Kuensel news site reports. It also quotes a Dr Tashi Samdrup as saying that mules who gave birth usually turned out to be donkeys 'in reality'. "The chromosomes were found out to be that of donkeys," he said.

'Sirs' and 'Dames' could soon be a thing of the past (Go To Top)

          London: Knighthoods might soon be a thing of the past, if British MPs have their way. The MPs have demanded a revamp of the honour system, as they feel that titles like "Sir" and "Dame" are obsolete, stoke up snobbery and often go to the wrong people, reports The Sun. If the MPs are to be believed these titles will not be granted after five years. Other titles like "Order of the British Empire" might also be scrapped during the makeover of the honours system. According to the report, these reforms are proposed in a report by the House of Commons Public Administration Committee, which reportedly believes that the honours system is secretive, complicated and used for bribing establishment figures. "These titles hark back to the past obsession with rank and class," Committee chairman Tony Wright was quoted as saying.
