          New York: Bush-bashing seems to be the flavour of the season in the U.S. as the country nears presidential elections. And the latest in the series is a shocking image of a blood-spattered Bush devouring a headless child, that is creating quite a stir. According to New York Post, the drawing by sculptor Richard Serra is based on a painting by Goya and is being used to promote pleasevote.com, with "a call to vote the Bush administration out of office." Serra, a past recipient of NEA grants, was once reportedly praised by First Lady Laura Bush in a White House press release about one of his pieces at a Texas museum, the paper added.

Book on Bush assassination calls him 'one dead armadillo' (Go To Top)

          New York: American president George W Bush is the target of an assassination attempt in Nicholson Baker's new book, "Checkpoint". According to The New York Daily News, the book will be published by Alfred A Knopf, who also published Bill Clinton's autobiography "My Life." The book features a plot to assassinate the president using everything from guns to remote-controlled flying saws. "He is beyond the beyond. What he's done with this war. He's one dead armadillo." the report quoted a character in "Checkpoint" as saying. However the characters do not follow through with the plan. The White House and the Secret Service refused to comment on the book. The book is expected to be released a week before the Republican National Convention.

Spears and Federline go 'bust' in LA (Go To Top)

          New York: Pop princess Britney Spears and her fiance Kevin Federline were stuck in Los Angeles when a tyre of their sports utility vehicle burst. According to ratethemusic.com the pair were trying to escape from the press when their van broke down, forcing them to call out a mechanic. The press got a good shot of the two love birds cosying up together while their vehicle was being repaired.

          New York: Pop diva Britney Spears who almost had a charade of a marriage with childhood sweetheart Jason Alexander, intends to get married in style this time. The star has planned to hire celebrity wedding planner Yifat Oren, for her special day which is reportedly on 20 November, according to MSNBC.com. Oren specializes in elegant, upscale ceremonies although a source said, "she's versatile, so if Britney decides to do something in keeping with her Louisiana roots, Yifat has also been known to use gingham tablecloths and burlap napkins for a more rustic look," a source was quoted in The New York Post as saying.

Though Spears is getting ready to take on the role of step mom to fianci Kevin Federline's kid , yet she has denied rumors that she's in the family way herself. In a recent interview to People magazine, Spears admitted that she wanted to have "four or five" kids one day--but for now, she's concentrating on raising her new Maltese puppy, Lacy".

          New York: Pop icon Britney Spears claims that she is a changed woman after finding true love with boyfriend Kevin Federline. According to The New York daily News, the 22-year old "Toxic" singer, who has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons of late, now wants "to get married, cook and clean and have at least four or five kids." Britney also revealed that unlike her first marriage with childhood pal Jason Alexander, which was annulled after 55 hours, this time around she hopes her marriage is for keeps. "I'm feeling everything, I'm excited, elated and Happy. I wake up in the morning, look at my engagement ring and think, 'Very cool," the report quoted her as saying. "I love cleaning, I really do. I'm like Suzy Homemaker. I'm starting to learn how to cook. ... I'm learning how to make all my mom's salads. I definitely want to have some kids, I see myself with four or five," she added.

          Washington: 'Spiderman 2' raked in 40.5 million dollars on the first day of opening in theaters, which is the highest amount earned by a film on it's first day. The Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst starrer has reportedly broken the record held by its prequel "Spiderman," which had recorded collections worth 39.4 million dollars. The movie has also left behind the 34.5 million dollar mark set by "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King," last year.
