          London: Hollywood heartthrob Tobey Maguire has often confessed to having had a troubled childhood and it was recently revealed that his bank robber dad might have been one of the reasons. According to The Sun, the "Spider man" star, broke off all contact with his father, Vincent Maguire, after he was jailed for two years for robbing a bank in 1993. Vincent was reportedly arrested immediately after he took off with a bag of money from a bank in broad daylight, which he robbed without wearing a mask or carrying any weapons. However, Tobey has now forgiven his father for his rash behavior, "Tobey is aware that his dad was pushed to breaking point and made a rash decision that cost him dearly. Tobey's father admits he did a stupid thing," the report quoted a family member as saying.

Beyonce's bum becomes a bouncy castle (Go To Top)

         London: Pop star Beyonce Knowles' derriere will be a major attraction at the upcoming Carling Weekend festival. According to The Sun, visitors to the festival can bounce and run on Beyonce's bum as a 'Beyonce Castle' has been created in the shape of the diva's well-endowed asset in the Aftershock tent.

Kabbalah devotees sell Madonna tickets in black (Go To Top)

          London: Pop diva Madonna, who had given 50 free front seat tickets to Kabbalah devotees, was deeply hurt when she saw that some of the followers of the religious group had put them up for sale on the internet. The singer had reserved the seats for members of the sect so that they could be close to her when she performed on stage. "She likes to surround herself with rabbis and people who follow the religion. She really believes their presence makes her perform better," The Sun quoted a source close to the star as saying. But some of them chose to auction the tickets on the net,even the head of the Kabbalah Centre in Boston, Abner Madag, did not lag behind, his web ad read: "Madonna VIP tickets, best seats in the house. If you have been wanting to see this show, then this is the way. Enjoy the show with the best seats in the house." Madonna was appalled to hear of it "Madonna was gutted when she found out," the paper quoted a source as saying.

Gadget to help you choose your dreams (Go To Top)

          London: Sigmund Freud might have explained how to interpret dreams, but now a Japanese Toy making company has come up with a device that can actually control them. According to Ananova, Tokyo-based toy makers Takara Co have invented a gadget called Dream Workshop with which people can decide what they want to dream about, complete with the sound effects. In order to make the gadget work, users must place a photograph of the person they want to dream about on the device, select the music they want to listen to and record word prompts, such as the name of a person. When the dream workshop is kept near the bedside, it gives out a white light, plays relaxing music and gives out a fragrance, which make the user sleepy. It later plays back the recorded word prompts, at a time when dreams mostly occur. The gadget is currently being tested on people between the age group of 20-40 years and it has recorded a success rate of 22 percent.

          New York: A new biography on veteran actor Marlon Brando has revealed that the "Godfather" actor has fallen upon such tough times, that he has to live in a one-room house, owes banks 20 million dollars and survives on his Screen Actors' Guild pension. According to The New York Daily News, the biography titled "Brando in Twilight" has been written by Patricia Ruiz and reveals that the reclusive star came under financial constraint due to huge amounts he spent while defending his son Christian, who was accused of manslaughter in 1990. According to the biography, Brando keeps the Oscar, which he won for "On the Waterfront" hidden because he thinks it will be seized as payment for his debts. The 80-year old actor, who first won critical acclaim for his role in the 1951 classic "A Streetcar Named Desire" also spent his fortune on the support payments for three children he had with former maid Cristina Ruiz.

Naomi Campbell's bikini drives Italian men crazy (Go To Top)

          New York: Naomi Campbell was nearly mobbed by male fans while she was shooting a mobile phone ad in Sardinia. According to The New York Post, the supermodel was clad in a bikini and her fans broke through some metal barriers. Fortunately the police intervened and order was soon restored.

         London: The King of Rock n'Roll Elvis Presley could soon top the charts for the 19th time, with his superhit song, that's All Right Mama, to be released once again by HMV exactly 50 years after its first release. According to The Mirror, HMV, which has already received a huge response from his fans, is tipping Elvis to top the charts once again. With 18 slots, Elvis holds the UK record for the maximum number of chart tops. "It is an amazing record", the paper quoted Todd Slaughter, of the official Elvis fan club, as saying.

          London: A German company, Perfect Alibi that sells plausible and 'water-tight' excuses to the spouses of its customers is proving to be a huge success. The lies, which cost a mere five pounds for a reassuring SMS to suspicious spouses or an invitation to a weekend seminar which costs forty pounds are the most popular services with the company's 350 customers. The system works with the company's personnel pretending to be hotel receptionists who take calls from spouses and secretly transfer them to the clients mobiles. Jens Schlingensief the company head says that he has no qualms about providing water-tight lies to his customers. "We are providing a service in modern-day Germany", Annanova quoted him as saying.

          New York: If rumours are to be believed, then Britney Spears, who got engaged to Kevin Federline last week, may be pregnant. "Spears is looking to start a family before she does anything else," US Weekly quoted a source as saying. However, a representative for Britney categorically denied the rumours. "I can definitely tell you today that Britney is not pregnant," The New York Daily News quoted him as saying.

Federline was voted 'America's Most Wanted' fugitive in school (Go To Top)

         Washington: Pop diva Britney Spears' fianci Kevin Federline was voted most likely to be seen on fugitive show 'America's Most wanted' when he graduated from his Fresno, California, high school in 1993. According to Star magazine the 'Toxic' star is all set to tie the knot with her dancer beau on November 20, 2004.

Janet Jackson breast show costs organizers a fortune (Go To Top)

          Washington: Janet Jackson's daring breast bare act may now cost the organizers a fortune, if the FCC staff has its way. According to zaptoit, Viacom ,the parent company of CBS might have to pay a fine of 550,000 dollars for Janet Jackson's breast flash at the Super Bowl show on Feb 1 this year. Reportedly ,in a staff report the members at the Federal Communications Commission have recommended fining 20 CBS affiliates owned Viacom. Both chambers of Congress have passed bills raising the maximum FCC fine,for the shocking incident that created an outrage amongst viewers. The commission's five members can either accept the staff recommendation or make their own determination on penalties. A decision is expected within the next few weeks.
