London:
The Church of Ireland bishop, Paul Colton, has denied
that he baptised the Beckham boys, saying that he was not
even present at the christening ceremony. The Bishop, who
had also married David and Victoria Beckham five years ago,
said that it was only the media, which had assumed that
he would officiate at this ceremony also. "It would appear
to be a classic case of adding two and two and making five.
This sort of thing is a product of the prurient obsession
that many in the media and in society at large have with
celebrity families such as David and Victoria Beckham and
their children," The Sun quoted him as saying. "The simple
fact of the matter is that I did not officiate at this occasion,"
he added.
