Shania Twain wants to be poor

      Washington: Singer Shania Twain has revealed that she is fed up with money and success in life, and feels that being poor would have been better. The pretty country singer has earned approximately 57 million dollars from concert ticket sales this year alone, but she sees this money as an enormous burden on her. "Money is a burden. All anybody needs is enough to eat and have a roof over their heads. Any more than that is a stress. My son is going to have money, and he's going to be stressed," ratethemusic.com quoted Shania as saying.

      London: 'Pearl Harbour' star Kate Beckinsale reportedly fell victim to pickpockets twice in two days while working in London. According to The Sun, 'The Aviator' actress was the target of the sneak thieves while shopping for Christmas this week following the premiere of the movie.

Liz Hurley flashes cleavage at Beckhams' sons' christening (Go To Top)

     London: Pop star Victoria Beckham had requested her female guests not to flash cleavage at her sons' christening ceremony, but a defiant Liz Hurley turned up for the occasion clad in a revealing ivory satin dress. Hurley was among a galaxy of stars to descend on the Beckhams' Hertfordshire mansion for the half-a-million pound christening of David and Victoria Beckham's two sons, Brooklyn and Romeo. Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish, godfathers to the boys, arrived in a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce, according to The Sun. Victoria's old Spice Girl band friends Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell all turned up, but Mel B was not present. David's best friend Dave Gardner was godfather of Brooklyn, five, and Victoria's pal Maria Louise was godmother of two-year-old Romeo. Other guests included ace footballer Wayne Rooney, Gary and Phil Neville and Sven Goran Eriksson.

      London: Pop star Kylie Minogue is getting 500,000 pounds to perform at an exclusive Christmas Day show for Russian oil barons. The 'Slow' singer will perform in front of 500 of Russia's richest people, including Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich. "Although it is Christmas it was just too much money to turn down for one gig," The Sun quoted a source as saying. The stunning Kylie will take her backing band and dancers to Moscow for the hi-profile gig.

J Lo's first husband goes to court  (Go To Top)

      London: She may be happily married to Marc Anthony, her third husband, but Jennifer Lopez's marital blues just don't seem to disappear. The much married star's first husband, Ojani Noa, has now decided to sue her for unfair dismissal six years after they split, reports Femalefirst. Ojani married J.Lo in 1997 before they split a year later. Noa, who filed his lawsuit on Tuesday, is now claiming that he was wrongly sacked as the manager of J Lo's Californian restaurant, Madre's. Noa says that he was paid 1,000 pounds a week to run the trendy eatery after it opened in April 2002, but was sacked six months into the contract, for no apparent reason. He further claims that he tried to get in touch with J Lo on the issue, but his calls were not returned. Noa is now seeking unspecified damages from the 'I'm Real' singer.

     Washington: Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez is reportedly trying for a baby with her salsa singer hubby Marc Anthony. The 'Maid In Manhattan' star said that she is a little anxious about becoming a mother, but is nevertheless keen to start a family with Anthony, whom she married in June. "I hope I have kids soon. I'm terrified of it, which is appealing and exciting to me," ratethemusic.com quoted Lopez as saying.
