         London: Hotel heiress Paris Hilton seems to give primary importance to her pet dog Tinkerball over other things in her life. According to The Sun, rumours are doing the rounds that Hilton dumped her ex-boyfriend Nick Carter because Tinkerball did not like him. The super rich socialite had also reportedly taken Tinkerball for therapy claiming that it was suffering from stress. As for family outings, Hilton recently dressed Tinkerball in trainers and a pink coat and took the chihuahua and her other pooch Prince for a drive in her limousine.

         London: There is bad news for women who spend extra time in the loo gossiping and improving their reflection in the mirror, for a bar chain in London plans to introduce a new automatic door mechanism in which toilet doors will open up in exactly one minute. According to The Sun, the mechanism dubbed the "Bog Off" system is about to be introduced by bar chain Brannigans in its 12 venues. They came up with the controversial scheme after a customer survey discovered the lengthy queue for the ladies' was the biggest source of complaints in their bars. Bog Off will initially go on trial in at least one of the firm's bars and will be installed at other venues only if it is a success. According to Brannigans manager Darren Lea, "We regularly survey our customers' opinions and kept coming back to the comments that queuing for the toilet is pants. So the Bog Off system will be a godsend."

         London: Supermodel Eva Herzegova was recently spotted frolicking with not one, but two millionaires on an Italian beach. According to Hello magazine, the former 'Wonderbra' model spent a day at the beach with her Italian businessman boyfriend Gregorio Marsiaj, and Formula One boss Flavio Briatore, at a Sardinia beach in Italy.

         London: :It's time for the wedding bells to ring for Justin Timberlake and Cameroon Diaz as the couple will soon walk down the aisle. According to The Sun, the pop hunk reportedly popped the crucial question after seeking permission from Diaz's parents. Timberlake also asked for his mom's approval for marrying Diaz. Reps of the former N'Sync singer have also confirmed the news of the prospective wedding. And Justin's pals reveal that the wedding will be "a very quiet affair". "It will be more like that of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin - nice and discreet.Cameron is absolutely thrilled about the engagement. They are both very much in love," one pal was quoted as saying.

          London: Actress Jane Fonda's 1968 character 'Barbarella,' in the film with the same name, has been voted the sexiest sci-fi character of all time, in a poll conducted by Film Review magazine. The characters were voted on the basis of flirtiness, stylishness and sexiness and Fonda's scantily clad intergalactic character topped in all three categories. The second sexiest sci-fi character was Milla Jovovich's character in 'Leeloo in The Fifth Element,' closely followed by Kristinna Loken's killer robot in 'Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines.'           London: It is a neckpiece that is befitting for a princess with 50 carats of diamonds and 240 stones studded to give it a royal touch and now this necklace worn by Princess Diana has gone on sale in the United States. According to Daily Mail, the 1 million pound necklace was worn by Diana for a performance of Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hall in June 1997, weeks before her death. Crafted by the royal jewellers Garrard, the piece was put up for sale by a mystery owner at an exclusive jewel boutique, Hollis Reh and Shariff near New York. According to Hollis Reh the owner of the company, "There is a tremendous amount of excitement.It is very special - fit for a princess".

          London: When it comes to being beautiful, the colour of the skin may hold the key, atleast that is what Halle Berry thinks. According to Ananova, the Oscar winner is completely happy with her looks for she believes that black women don't age quickly. "I'm happy with what I see. I feel relaxed about ageing. I haven't had any operations yet. Black women in my age really don't have to worry about anything," Austrian magazine Woman quoted her as saying. "My grandmother is over 80 and her skin is immaculate. I hope I won't have to think about getting Botox treatment until I'm 80," she added.

Shyamalan's 'Village' might get sued for plagiarism (Go To Top)

          Washington: He might have become eponymous in Hollywood for movies evoking mystery but acclaimed writer- director M Night Shyamalan has now been accused of drawing his inspiration from children's books. According to Eonline, his latest movie 'The Village' has come under the scanner after publishing giant Simon & Schuster indicated that it may file a lawsuit against him claiming that the movie is taken from our of children's author Margaret Peterson Haddix's first book, Running Out of Time published in 1995. "It was the fans that really pointed it out in the first place. The book is about a young tomboyish girl in a rural village in the 1800s who comes to learn that, in fact, it is a historical preserve in 1996 and that the adults have kept that secret from the children of the village. She finds that out when her mother sends her out to get medicine. But she learns it pretty early on in the book and then discovers all sorts of other intrigue," the report quoted a spokesman for the publishers as saying.

Empire State Building pays tribute to 'King Kong' star (Go To Top)

         Washington: The Empire State Building in New York dimmed its lights on Tuesday for 15 minutes in memory of the "King Kong" actress Fay Wray who died on August 8. The New York City landmark served as a backdrop for the famous scene in which King Kong scales down the building to save Wray. "When I'm in New York, I look at the Empire State Building and feel as though it belongs to me, or is it vice versa?" Wray had commented in an interview in 1996. "We are saddened by the passing of Fay Wray, a wonderful actress and dear friend of the Empire State Building," a statement on the official web site of the building states. In her honor, the lights of the ESB Tower will be dimmed."

George Bush's 'shocking' remedy for pigeon poop (Go To Top)

          New York: Officials at the historic James A. Farley Post Office building, New York, where this year's Republican National convention will take place, have found a novel way of dealing with the pigeons which are threatening to ruin the GOP meet. The pigeons will be given high-voltage, low ampere electric shocks till they finally get the message and decide to look for another abode. According to the New York Daily News, pigeons have been living at the post office since decades now, and officials have always complained about the pigeon poop that they often get showered with. This time around the post office officials decided to call in the experts, they gave a contract to Bell Environmental Services of Parsippany to get rid of the birds. The agency has installed solar-powered strips along the ledges and columns of the building to deliver a nonfatal shock to the birds who land on them. The high-voltage, low-ampere current is similar to that used in wires on ranch fences to keep cattle off. The strips are about an inch and a half wide, with insulated wires on either side carrying the current. "After enough shocks, birds learn to avoid the building, you put your hand on a stove, you don't put your hand back," the report quoted Bell founder and president Phil Waldorf, as saying.

Tom Cruise travels with his 'replica' (Go To Top)

          London: Tom Cruise's entourage reportedly includes a man who looks like a younger version of the 'Top Gun' star. The lookalike accompanied the 42-year-old Cruise to the premiere of his latest action thriller 'Collateral' in New York. After the lights dimmed at the premiere, Cruise's bodyguard switched seats so that the 'Mission Impossible' star could sit next to his 'replica'. "After the movie, Tom ran out with 10 bodyguards, leaving behind his pal, who joined him later at the party. It was odd," The Mirror quoted a source as saying. A Hollywood insider, meanwhile, revealed that Cruise's mystery mate is actually his trainer and has been with the actor for years.
