Madonna goes into 'trance' before dance

          London: Kabbalah seems to have become an integral part of Madonna's life with her meditation sessions now extending to her sets. She has asked for a special "peace room" to be built backstage at the Manchester Evening News Arena for her UK show. According to The Sun, she wants a soundproof zone where she can meditate into a trance for an hour before her performance. The walls in the room are to be green with soft cushions on the floor. "She doesn't want to hear a pin drop outside and it needs to be green - the colour most conducive to meditation. She calls it her peace room," an insider was quoted as saying.

Cruise rents three villas for 'Mission Impossible' in Berlin (Go To Top)

          London: Hollywood star Tom Cruise is renting three luxury villas in Berlin for 200,000 pounds for the filming of 'Mission Impossible III'. According to Ananova, the shooting for Cruise's action packed thriller is scheduled to begin at the Babelsberg Studios in October. The three villas are situated on a 130,000-square-foot piece of land and together provide 29,500 square feet of living space. The luxury villas were reportedly wrecked three years ago when Steven Seagal rented the complex while shooting 'Half Past Dead' in Babelsberg.

King Kong's first sweetheart dies at 96 (Go To Top)

          Washington: Vina Fay Wray, the actress who appeared as the heroine in the first 'King Kong' movie, died at her home on Sunday. She was 96 years old. The actress, who was known as the 'scream queen' for appearing in a number of thriller and horror movies, like "Dr. X," "The Mystery of the Wax Museum," "The Vampire Bat" and "The Most Dangerous Game," appeared in more than 100 movies, during her carrer. Wray is survived by her daughter Susan, from her first husband Saunders, and Robert and Vicki, whom she had with her second husband, Oscar winner Robert Riskin.

It's bottoms up at a Cambridge art gallery (Go To Top)

          London: A London gallery has put up a somewhat offbeat exhibition that has 28 artistic works depicting the human bottom. According to the Telegraph, the exhibition includes pictures, sculptures and paintings. Organisers of event are hoping that visitors will view it in the right spirit and not see it as obscene. The gallery's owners have described the exhibition as a light- hearted attempt at exhibiting some gorgeous and highly original work as the artists were given complete freedom. The organisers gave an advertisement on the Internet and zeroed down on 16 artists, from all the entries that came in. The art is on sale at the Skylark Studios in Tydd Gote, Cambridge, and price ranges from 25 pounds to 225 pounds. "Even though it's about bottoms, it is suitable for all ages. There's nothing too controversial. It's just a lovely light- hearted exhibition where artists have been given the opportunity to use their imagination," the report quoted the gallery owner, Louise Stebbing as saying.

'Bombay Dreams' to feature at Republican convention (Go To Top)

          New York: The Andrew Lloyd Webber directed musical 'Bombay Dreams' will be played at the Republican convention at the end of this month, along with some other Broadway musicals. Composed by AR Rehman, the musical is a harmless take on the Indian film industry and also features a transsexual character. According to the New York Daily News,the other Broadway musicals to be played at the convention include: 'Aida,' '42nd Street,' 'The Lion King,' 'The Phantom of the Opera,' 'Beauty and the Beast,' and 'Wonderful Town.'
