          London: Soccer star David Beckham is having feng shui symbols sewn into his football boots in a bid to lift his flagging career. According to The Sun, the England skipper has turned to the yin and yang theory after off-the-field problems affected his performance in the Euro Cup. The boots will come in Beckham's trademark red and silver colours to help create a yin and yang harmony. The silver colour represents class, purity and value, and the red colour is meant to provide power and stimulation to Beckham's heart and breathing. "I'm very proud to wear these boots because they represent the idea of yin and yang," the report quoted Beckham as saying.

Halle Berry launches crusade against plastic beauty (Go To Top)

          London: Natural is beautiful for 'Catwoman' Halle Berry who has launched a vitriolic attack on the growing tendency of women going under the knife in the quest for 'plastic' beauty. "I do think we've become obsessed with beauty and the fountain of youth and, frankly, personally I'm really saddened by the way women mutilate their faces today in search of that," she was quoted by The Daily Mail, as saying. "It's really insane and I feel sad that's what society is doing to women," added the Oscar winning actress, speaking at a press conference to promote her movie 'Catwoman'. "I see women in their thirties getting plastic surgery, pulling this up and tucking that back. It's like a slippery slope - once you start you pull one thing one way and then you think, 'Oh my God, I've got to do the other side'." There is this plastic, copycat look evolving and that's frightening to me," she added.

Jude Law to play tragic genius in new Ian Curtis biopic (Go To Top)

          London: 'Cold Mountain' star Jude Law is all set play the role of tragic 'Joy Divison' singer Ian Curtis in a new Hollywood biopic. Curtis was one of Engalnd's most talented but troubled musicians, who committed suicide in 1980 at the age of 23. The news of Jude's signing was leaked by former Joy Division and 'New Order' bass player Peter Hook. "I've heard Jude will play the role. It's not a bad choice. The film is being made by Hollywood but what's important is they get the story right," The Sun quoted Hook as saying. The film is being produced by Todd Eckert and the script is based on the biography 'Touching From A Distance', written by Curtis' widow Deborah.

Lewinsky and Loos to let you look into their 'chequebooks' (Go To Top)

          London: Both of them have been at the centre of high- profile scandals, and now Monica Lewinsky and Rebecca Loos are all ready to discuss the money they made from them at the Edinburgh television festival. According to The Telegraph, the duo are expected to speak on a panel discussion about chequebook journalism titled - Chequebook vs Notebook in the festival. The debate will look at the "price" of a news story and how payments are sometimes disguised. While Monica Lewinsky has been paid for various interviews, including 400,000 pounds from Channel 4 Rebecca Loos, Beckham's former personal assistant, reportedly earned 800,000 pounds from a series of media deals involving the News of the World and Sky One.

          New York: Actress Cameron Diaz and her pop star boyfriend Justin Timberlake seem to be going to great lengths to prove that they are still very much an item. According to The New York Daily News, the couple was spotted acting too lovey-dovey in public after British tabloids had reported recently that Timberlake was cheating on with Diaz. The 'Charlie's Angels' star was seen partying with Timberlake at Ian Schrager's Shore Club hotel in Miami, after which the pair went on to rest on one of the nightspot's comfortable beds and reportedly made out in full view of other partygoers.

          Sydney: He might have been touted as the successor to Pierce Brosnan as James Bond but the rumour has taken Eric Bana by surprise. According to The Herald Sun, he broke the news on Dave O'Neil's Nova brekky radio show. Dave O'Neil and Bana have been friends for years. "I haven't got a bloody clue. It's kinda baffling to me. I've said, like, a million times I wouldn't do it. It's never, ever, ever been something we've had a discussion about," Bana was quoted as saying in the interview.

          London: Succumbing to her motherly instincts, actress Angelina Jolie recently took some time off her hectic schedule to give company to her son Maddox. According to Hello magazine, the Tomb Raider star, who loves to spend some quality time with her kid, was spotted shopping with him after she wrapped up her work on her latest movie 'Mr and Mrs Smith' opposite Brad Pitt. Ever since Angelina adopted the Cambodian orphan in 2002, she has earned a reputation of being a devout mother and often brings her little boy along while travelling abroad. "It's an amazing thing to take care of a child and to have a child trust you and love you.That makes me feel like I somehow have a purpose. I didn't know what I would be like as a parent. Hurt and Harris join Mortensen in 'A History of Violence' (Go To Top)

          Washington: Veteran actors ED Harris and William Hurt are all set to join "Lord of the Rings" actor Viggo Mortensen in a movie version of John Wagner and Vince Locke's novel 'A History of Violence.' According to Zap2it, the movie narrates the tale of an average family which is thrust into the spotlight after the father commits a seemingly self-defense murder at his diner, which sparks a national debate. Mortensen will play the central character in the movie, while four time Oscar nominee, "Pollock" star Ed Harris will play the man who goes after Mortensen. Hurt will play the role Harris's half brother.

Charlize Theron turns from blonde to brunette (Go To Top)

          London: She might be Hollywood's very own golden girl but Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron now sports jet black hair tied back with a side-parting. According to Hello, the hairdo is for her upcoming movie Aeon Flux, a fantasy thriller in which she plays a mysterious secret agent who doesn't let morals get between her and her objectives.

William frolicks with Middleton in Indian Ocean (Go To Top)

          London: Prince William was recently spotted frolicking with his girlfriend Kate Middleton in Rodrigues Island, near Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. According to The Sun, the British royal, sporting a wetsuit went scuba diving and enjoyed a 30-minute underwater adventure before rejoining Kate. The couple, who live together in a cottage at St Andrews University, Scotland, are enjoying a summer holiday together for the first time. They have come to the island with a group of eight friends, who have taken a two-week break. The Prince is in a complete holiday mood and he was seen riding a motorbike along a beach road. Onlookers said that the blue- blooded tourist looked completely relaxed as he enjoyed the sun and sand of the beautiful island.
