London:
Harrods boss Mohamed Al Fayed banned Rebecca Loos from
a party at his store to avoid upsetting the Beckhams. Rebecca,
who claims that she bedded David Beckham when she was his
personal assistant in Madrid, had been invited to the bash
to launch a jewellery range, according to the Mirror. However,
Loos, a former receptionist at the top London store, was
told two hours before it began that she could not come.
Rebecca, 26, said of Fayed, "He apparently wanted to show
how friendly he is with Victoria and David, but maybe he
has forgotten I was very friendly with David too." Interestingly,
Loos has been invited to a string of hi-profile events after
her sex claims, which Becks has branded as ludicrous. Meanwhile,
Harrods said that Fayed stepped in after seeing that the
staff had invited the scandal queen of the decade for the
jewellery launch. "Mr.Al Fayed is great friends with Victoria
and David. They are also great friends of Harrods and very
good customers," the report quoted a spokesman as saying.

London:
A British bank was shocked to find that it could not
even give away money. According to Ananova, the branch of
Barclays Bank, in Croydon, London, put up a sign offering
a five pound note to anyone who stepped inside to collect
it, but the bank officials revealed, that no one took up
the offer. The experiment, carried out for two hours one
day in January, was to help Barclays understand what engages
customers as they walk past branches. "The basic conclusion
that we came to was that people would much rather look at
shops that are selling dresses than financial services.
Obviously we are always looking for better ways to engage
with our customers," the report quoted a bank spokesperson
as saying.
