Islamabad:
Police have arrested a man in China after he was suspected
of 30 corpses from local graveyards, cooking soup with their
flesh and crushing the bones in a bid to heal his sick wife,
a report in the Daily Times said Thursday. Identified as
Huang, the 51-year old man was arrested in Kaijiang county
falling under south-western Sichuan province. The needle
of suspicion turned on him after corpses had disappeared
mysteriously from local cemeteries since 1988, the paper
quoted a report in a Chinese daily as saying. According
to preliminary investigations, the suspected man stolethe
bodies after a fortune teller told him that fresh body parts
were the only remedy for his wife's seemingly incurable
and unidentified illness. He was told to carve off the flesh
and cook soup for his wife, or grind the bones into a powder
that he was to smear on her forehead, the report concluded.

New
York: Pop queen Madonna has hit back at her record company
Warner Music following their lawsuit against her Maverick
Records imprint. According to IMDb, the two companies are
currently suing each other, with Maverick accusing Warner
of causing loss due to mismanagement, and Warner hitting
back that the label - which boasts of artists including
Alanis Morissette and Michelle Branch - has lost 66 million
dollars in the last five years. However, Maverick's attorney
Bert Fields claims the dispute was on the brink of resolution,
before Warner's new owner Edgar Bronfman Jr., ended negotiations
and proceeded to court last month "First, Warner Music stabbed
Madonna in the back by filing this suit in Delaware just
as we were on the verge of settling this. Then, they turn
their PR department loose to smear her," Maverick's attorney
Bert Fields was quoted as saying. The attorney counters
that Maverick has made Warner a massive profit, and the
major label's aggressive stance may have affected their
ability to attract artists in the future.

London:
Take That, the most famous Boy band of the nineties
is getting back together after a gap of six years, but the
band's most popular former member Robbie Williams will not
be joining the band. However, the other four members of
the British band - Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange
and Howard Donald, are planning a one-off live performance,
sometime at the end of this year as well as a series of
TV appearances and interviews. The "how Deep is Your Love"
singers had split after they sacked Robbie Williams. Following
the break-up, Robbie was the only one who managed to establish
a successful solo career. "The band's record label BMG came
to us with the idea of releasing live footage of their old
concerts. It was obvious that there's still a lot of interest
in the band - and none of the footage has ever been put
out, the reunion is part of the deal," The Sun quoted former
band manager Nigel Martin Smith, as saying. However "Feel"
singer Robbie has refused to even consider a reunion and
was reported to be furious at the suggestion of getting
back with Take That whose hits include "Back For Good" and
"Relight My Fire".
