Prince
William's girlfriend nicknamed 'Queen'
London:
Kate Middleton, who is currently living in with Prince
William in a cottage near St Andrews, Fife was nicknamed
as 'Queen' by her crewmates in BT Global Challenge yacht.
"Kate was gorgeous and very popular. She was from a good
family and seemed just perfect for the prince. After the
crew heard Kate and William were both going to St Andrews
we said they'd end up getting together," the Mirror quoted
a former crewmate of Kate on the Southampton-based craft
as saying. "We used to tell her: 'You'll be the Queen one
day'. It was a long-running joke. She used to laugh along
but you could tell she really liked him. She admitted: 'I
do fancy Wills'," the crewmate added. The report says that
Kate has met Prince Charles several times and sources are
convinced that their relationship is serious.
William
and Kate went to great lengths to keep their four-month-
old romance a secret. Only close friends knew about the
relationship and were sworn to secrecy. History of art student
Kate, 21, had a summer fling in 2001 with deckhand Ian Henry
and they even went on a secret holiday to the Caribbean.
"We met a couple of years ago through sailing. She is a
fun girl. I would call her bubbly, outgoing and down-to-earth.
I did not know she and William were an item. She is very
reserved, she does not like being in the spotlight," the
report quoted Ian as saying. However, the most talked about
pair of recent times never held hands or showed affection
to each other in public for four months. Even when photographs
of the pair on a skiing holiday in Switzerland were published,
the prince ordered Clarence House aides to keep quiet. A
spokesman still refused to confirm Wills and Kate were an
item. He said, "He's going to be photographed and seen with
young ladies in the next few years because he's a young
man out and about," the report quoted him as saying.
Kate
had hit the headlines after William reportedly paid 200
pounds for a VIP ticket to a university fashion show where
she modelled a bra and knickers while wearing a see-through
dress. William and Kate have much in common, the report
adds. Both are sports lovers and play tennis together. Kate
is discreet and loyal, qualities William admires in his
friends and she was among the 300 guests invited to William's
21st birthday party at Windsor Castle last June.

Eccentric as it may sound, but a small airplane had
to make an emergency landing on a busy road of the world's
second biggest city Sao Paulo. According to a report in
Ananova, the airplane's engine broke down in the middle
of a flying lesson and the pilot then had to land in Joao
Paulo I avenue. Fortunately, there was no traffic on the
road when student pilot Gledson Gimaraes Teixeira landed
the plane. Residents of the area panicked after hearing
the noise of the plane, thinking it was a terrorist attack,
but nobody was hurt.

Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson, who shot the
film in New Zealand might make a film about the country's
legendary man of all times, Sir Edmund Hillary. According
to the Herald Sun, Jackson met Peter Hillary, the son of
Sir Edmund, who was the first to climb the world's highest
mountain, Mt Everest. Peter who was in Sydney yesterday
to promote his book, In The Ghost Country said,"I went along
and spoke to Peter Jackson to talk about a biographical
feature film about dad". Although the screenplay is written,
it will have to wait until Jackson has finished his next
project, King Kong.

Pop diva Kylie Minogue has fuelled speculation that
she is expecting her first child after reportedly being
spotted buying a pregnancy test kit. The 'Can't Get You
Out Of My Head' singer, 35, is currently dating French movie
hunk Olivier Martinez and recently dislosed her dreams over
motherhood. According to imdb, eagle-eyed onlookers observed
the happy couple leaving a pharmacy in Paris with a small
package, which insiders claim was the all-important testing
kit. Kylie and Martinez have been inseparable since meeting
at the Grammy Awards in 2003.

Teenage pop-icon, Britney Spears scrapped the third show
of her Onyx Hotel tour due to a mystery illness. According
to rate the music, the show scheduled to be held at Moline,
Illinois' Gund Arena was cancelled and rescheduled for 29
June this year. Two of her earlier Illinois shows were cancelled
last month after she injured her knee.
