Hyderabad: Tennis sensation Sania Mirza, 22, got engaged here on Friday evening to Hyderabad-based businessman Mohammad Sohrab Mirza, 23, son of N Adil Mirza. The engagement ceremony took place at plush hotel Taj. She paid a visit to a dargah on way to the GVK hotel where the ceremony took place at around 8 pm. Imran Mirza, father of Sania Mirza, said that the engagement ceremony was a family affair with only the close ones being invited. "It is a family oriented thing where only a very few close people and friends have been invited. It is not a show," said Imran. Sania's doubles partner Mahesh Bhupathi was among those present at the hotel ceremony. Sania became the first Indian eve to capture any Grand Slam title when she partnered Russia's Alisa Kleybanova to win the junior doubles title at Wimbledon in 2003 and later she became the first Indian woman to win a WTA event that she won on her home courts at Hyderabad in 2005.
