Sadauli (Uttar Pradesh): Congress

of Rae Bareli on Monday. Sonia Gandhi, on a three-day-tour of her constituency,
spent about 30 minutes and heard the problems faced by the villagers. She also

Guarantee Act (NREGA) scheme. "We are glad that she (Sonia Gandhi) is coming after
so many days. She will provide solutions to our problems," said Ram Prasad, a
local resident. The villagers expressed hopes that Sonia Gandhi would address
their problems and initiate steps to bring an end to these. "We want to meet her.
She should look into our problems. Twice my house was razed down. I don't have
a penny. There is no proper colony in our region," said Shyama Devi, another local
resident. This is Sonia Gandhi's second visit to her constituency of Rae Bareilly,
she is expected to review the development works in the remote villages under her
constituency during her 3-day stay.
Sonia Gandhi held 'chaupals' in three villages
of Rae Bareli and heard the complaints of the people. Soon after her arrival,
she first proceeded to Beriaya Ka Tola at Rampur Sudakan village in Bachrawa Assembly
segment where she had a one-to-one interaction with mostly Dalit women. She heard
complaints related to the non-availablity of ration cards, fake records of the
NREGA, irregularities in Indira Awas and scarcity of handpumps. Later, she also
held 'chaupal' at Satti village. During her three-day visit, she is scheduled
to inaugurate the Rajiv Gandhi Hostel at the Feroz Gandhi Engineering Institute.
