Protest against Valentine's day celebration

ears by Shiv Sena activists after they dared to celebrate the Valentine's day. The Sena
dubs it as anti-Indian.

. New Delhi: The Shiv Sainiks protested against the celebration of Valentine's day on Monday in many parts of the country dubbing it against the Indian culture. In Amritsar, they went all over the city and caused a lot of destruction. They destroyed most of the flower and the gift shops and even tortured the couples who were in a mood to celebrate. In Varanasi they forced the couples to punch each other's ears and even made a girl tie a rakhi on the wrist of a boy.

"We are against it as this is bringing in the western culture in our country. We want to see Indian culture to prevail here and not the western. We informed the whole town in Amritsar that nobody should celebrate Valentine's day," said Ajay Chaube. This day came as a shock for everybody rather than a pleasant surprise. The young generation believes that the motive of the Shiv Sainiks behind such an act is just to create problems.

"I think Shiv Sainiks don't have any work and so all this is being done," said Rajesh Yadav.  This is not the first time the Shiv Sainiks have caused such problems. They protested in Delhi and Mumbai also to show their protest over the concept of Valentine's day.
