Asha Bhosle Launches First Album of 'A Band of Boys' (Go To Top)

MUMBAI: Asha Bhosle, the reigning queen of pop music in the country, formally launched the music of 'Yeh Bhi, Woh Bhi', the debut album of A Band Of Boys (ABOB) here on Thursday, September 12.

'Yeh Bhi, Woh Bhi', India's first and only boy band, set the stage on fire with their electrifying performances beginning with ;'Meri Neend U Gayi Hai' which has become very popular in the metros across the country.

The band of boys comprises five talented young singers, some of whom are successful models and actors in television serials. Among them is Chaitanya Bhosle, grandson of Asha Bhosle, who is a successful advertising professional but opted out of it for the love of music which runs in his blood. But he admits that initially his decision took the Mangeshkar family by surprise and they resisted his decision.

However, when she saw her grandson performing live on stage, the celebrated singer seemed to have no regrets with his decision. But she mentioned it's only talent that will take them far in their career.

Along with Sherrin Varghese, the lead singer of the Rubber Band and Siddharth Haldipur the youngest member of the boy band, Sudhanshu Pandey and Karan Oberoi are popular TV actors and have done several ad films.

The music has been composed by Leslie Lewis, who spent over a year in perfecting the sound which he wanted to identify the boys with. The theme of the album revolves around the ethereal aspects of love and romance sung in different moods by ABOB. According to Vinod Nair, the producer and promoter of the album, a lot of elements have been incorporated to Indianize this international concept of a boy band.

After the recent release of the girl band, the boy band has sprung up creating similar "airs" around. Hopefully both will succeed in making their mark in the Indian pop music market and provide variety entertainment for music lovers.
