Curry tops list of feigned homemade dishes London:
Gone are the days when women used to sweat all through the day in
the kitchen to make their way into their men's hearts. As with modern
day cooks, all they have to do to please their partners is - put on
some make-up( to don that artificial appeareance) and get ready in 2-minutes
with some shop-bought ready meals, which are as delicious as the home
cooked ones. And with curry topping as the most popular dish when it
comes to convincing guests that supermarket ready meals are actually
homemade, the research, carried out by 'Tesco Express' on 1,800 people,
showed that one in ten people are food fraudsters who would happily
serve friends shop-bought convenience packs and pass them off as their
own. Researchers further claimed that, while once it may have been a
case of using a ready-made soup or frozen dessert, modern-day cooks
think nothing of serving up all three courses fresh out of packets.
They also insisted that women are almost three times more likely than
men to commit the culinary con. "It seems that people are happily passing
off an entire three- course meal as their own work, saying nothing,
and even going to extremes to cover up the fact that the whole dinner
is pre- prepared," The Scotsman quoted a spokesman, as saying. Curry
was followed in the cheat list by fish pie, soup, smoked salmon roulade,
lasagne, chocolate fudge cake and apple pie, revealed the findings.
