Fake IAS officer arrested in Lucknow Lucknow: Lucknow police have nabbed a man who was posing as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer after a domestic help lodged a complaint. Thirty-five-year- old Kiran Kumar was arrested at his home in CRPF colony that comes under the Sarojini Nagar police circle. Kumar was arrested after a minor girl who worked as his domestic help lodged a complaint that Kumar had molested her. " He (Kiran Kumar) posed himself to be an IAS officer in front of the people and the name plate which he used also has his designation as Joint Director, Fertilizer and Petro Chemicals Ministry. Using this designation he has cheated many people. Yesterday he kept a 13- year-old girl as his domestic help and when she came for work, he tried to molest her. The girl somehow managed to escape and informed the police about the incident. We arrested him and then came to know that he was posing as an IAS officer. He did not even know its full form. We are now investigating how he misused his designation," said Naveen Likera, SSP Lucknow. After
the arrest, police have recovered an ambassador car, several mobile
phones and fake visiting cards. Kumar, however, refused to acknowledge
the charges levelled against him. According to him, his fascination
for travelling in car with blue beacon light made him act the role
of a senior government official. "I haven't done anything. I just
had this car and used to go for leisure drive and nothing else," said
Kumar. Kumar's arrest is the second instance of an individual impersonating
a governmnet civil servant this month in Lucknow. Earlier, on July
20, Anil Kumar Mishra, an unemployed graduate of Lucknow University
was arrested for posing as an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer.
