The
Film: Director Arjun Sajnani's Agni Varsha
is an epic story of love and sacrifice ripped
off from the Mahabharata. It is adapted from the
play, the Fire and the
Rain, of leading playwright Girish Karnad and
is
shot entirely in the
World
Heritage site of Hampi. The film
makes
an
attempt to retain the original zeitgeist. Paravasu
is the elder son of sage Raibhya. He conducted
a fire sacrifice for rain for seven years, neglecting
his family. Paravasu's cousin and family foe Yavakri
returns from the forests after ten years
of tapasya. He seduces Paravasu's wife Visakha.

Well-known
model Milind Soman plays the role of Paravasu's
younger brother Aravasu, who is in love with a
tribal girl, Nittilai, and prepares to marry her.
