New domestic terminal building inaugurated at Surat

     Surat: The new domestic terminal building was inaugurated at Surat today. The new domestic terminal building has an area of 8474 square metre and is a glass and steel structure having modern passenger friendly facilities such as central heating system, central air conditioning, public address system, Flight Information Display System (FIDS), CCTV for surveillance, check in counters, and car parking. The building has peak hour passenger handling capacity of 250 passengers (125 arrival + 125 departure) and annual handling capacity of 2.03 lakh. The new domestic terminal building has several salient features. They are passenger handling capacity (domestic -150), check-in counters (6), X ray scanners (for baggage) (1), security check booths (3) and conveyor belt - arrival (2). The new apron can cater for parking of 05 Category 'C' type of aircraft.

     Recently, new Integrated Terminal Buildings were inaugurated at the Amritsar International Airport, Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun and Jaipur International Airport. The new Integrated Terminal Building at the Amritsar airport has an area of 40175 sqm (approx). The existing terminal has an area of about 12770 sqm while 27405 sqm is to be added in Ph II of extension. It is a glass and steel structure having modern passenger friendly facilities such as central air conditioning system, inline x-ray baggage inspection system integrated with the baggage conveyor system, escalators, public address system, Flight Information Display System (FIDS), CCTV for surveillance, check in counters with Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE), car parking, etc. The Integrated Terminal Building will have peak hour passenger handling capacity of 1200 passengers and annual handling capacity of 14.6 lacs.

     The apron has been extended to cater for parking of total of 14 aircraft (8 Category ‘E’, 3 Category ‘D’ and 3 Category ‘C’ type of aircrafts) from the earlier capacity of 10 aircraft and strengthened for parking of Category ‘E’ type of aircraft.

     The New Domestic Terminal Building at Dehradun has an area of 4200 sqm and is a glass and steel structure having modern passenger friendly facilities such as central heating system, central air conditioning, public address system, Flight Information Display System (FIDS), CCTV for surveillance, check in counters, car parking, etc. The Domestic Terminal Building has peak hour passenger handling capacity of 150 passengers (75 arrival + 75 departure) and annual handling capacity of 1.22 lakhs. New apron can cater for parking of 2 Category ‘C’ type of aircraft.

     The New International Terminal Building at the Jaipur airport has an area of 22950 sqm (approx), is made of glass and steel structure having modern passenger friendly facilities such as central heating system, central air conditioning, inline x-ray baggage inspection system integrated with the departure conveyor system, inclined arrival baggage claim carousals, escalators, public address system, Flight Information Display System (FIDS), CCTV for surveillance, check in counters with Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE), car parking, etc. The International Terminal Building has peak hour passenger handling capacity of 500 passengers and annual handling capacity of 4 lakhs. New Apron can cater for parking of 10 aircrafts for parking 3 Category ‘E’, 3 Category ‘D’ and 4 Category ‘C’ type of aircrafts

     On February 21, new integrated terminals were inaugurated at Vishakhapatnam and Tiruchirappalli airports. The foundation stone laying ceremony for new integrated terminal building at the Goa airport was also held on the day. The Integrated Terminal Building at the Goa Airport, built over an area of 61957 sqm (approx) will be a glass and steel structure having modern passenger friendly facilities such as central heating system, inline x-ray baggage inspection system integrated with the baggage conveyor system, central air conditioning, inclined arrival baggage claim carousals, escalators, public address system, Flight Information Display System (FIDS), CCTV for surveillance, check in counters, car parking, etc. The Integrated Terminal Building will have peak hour passenger handling capacity of 2770 passengers. The existing building presently can handle an annual capacity of 25.78 lacs. The expansion of apron has been completed to cater for parking 9 Category 3 'D' and 6 Category 'C' type of aircrafts from existing capacity of 6 Category 'C' type of aircraft.

     The Integrated Terminal Building at the Vishakhapatnam has an area of 21558 sqm (approx) and is made of glass and steel structure having modern passenger friendly facilities such as central air conditioning system, inline x-ray baggage inspection system integrated with the baggage conveyor system, escalators, public address system, Flight Information Display System (FIDS), CCTV for surveillance, check in counters, car parking, etc. The Integrated Terminal Building has peak hour passenger handling capacity of 700 passengers and annual handling capacity of 7.3 lakhs. The new apron has been constructed to cater for parking of 6 nos. (2 nos. Category 'E', 1 no. Category 'D' and 3 nos. Category 'C') type of aircrafts in addition to existing capacity of 2 nos. Category 'C' type of aircraft and 6 Helicopters.

     The Integrated Terminal Building at the Tiruchirappalli Airport has an area of 11777 sqm (approx) and is made of glass and steel structure having modern passenger friendly facilities such as central air conditioning system, inline x-ray baggage inspection system integrated with the baggage conveyor system, escalators, public address system, Flight Information Display System (FIDS), CCTV for surveillance, check in counters, car parking, etc. The Integrated Terminal Building has peak hour passenger handling capacity of 400 passengers and annual handling capacity of 3.24 lakhs. 3

    The expansion of apron has been completed to cater for parking of total 7 nos. (3 nos.Category 'D' and 4 nos.Category 'C' type of aircrafts from existing capacity of 3 nos. Category 'C' type of aircraft.
