Centre appoints key officials for merged Air India

     New Delhi: The Central Government will appoint V Thulsidas as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) and Vishwapati Trivedi as Joint Managing Director of the merged entity 'Air India' from the time it would come into being. Meanwhile, both would continue to work on the positions they are currently holding. Thulasidas and Trivedi will continue as CMD of Air India and Indian Airlines respectively, till such time as the merged entity comes into being. The Government has also approved the protection pay and perquisites of Thulasidas and Trivedi shall remain protected. Thulasidas is a Manipur-Tripura cadre IAS officer of 1972 batch and Trivedi is a Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer of 1977 batch.
