Mishap causes delay at Mumbai airport

Mumbai: Sunday;s plane mishap at Mumbai airport has led to delay of several inbound and outbound flights of most airlines providing their services here. According to the airport sources, every flight was delayed for quite long time as the main runway was unserviceable after the mishap involving Air Sahara's Kolkata-Mumbai Boeing 737 yesterday evening. All outbound and inbound planes had to use the secondary runway since the aircraft was still not lifted off and continued to block the main runway. Indian Airlines has 25 flights departing by 12 noon and most of them were delayed, an airline spokesman said. These delays were caused after Air Sahara's Kolkata-Mumbai Boeing 737 missed touchdown by several metres while landing on Sunday evening and overshot the main runway, making it unserviceable since then.
