CM asks Infosys chief to reconsider resignation

Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh said here on Saturday that he had talked to the Infosys Chief N R Narayana Murthy who is currently in the United States on phone and requested Murthy to reconsider the decision of his resignation from Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL). "I willl continue dialogue with Murthy on his return to the city on November 2 and sort out the differences that prompted him to resign from the post of Chairman of BIAL," said Singh. Expressing disappointment over the incident, Singh said, " I want Murthy to continue on the post." Singh comes in the defence of the Infosys Chief at the time when Former Prime Minister and JD (S) leader H D Deve Gowda stepped up its attack Murthy saying his contribution to the project is 'nothing'. Gowda renewed his attack on Murthy today and also criticised Dharam Singh for calling Infosys Chief. The JD(S) which is a partner in Congress-led coalition government in the state said that Singh was indulging in politics at the behest of Maharastra Governor and former Chief Minister of Karnataka S M Krishna. Murthy had resigned from the post of Chairman of the BIAL on Thursday following Gowda's criticism of his role in the project. Infosys Technologies on Friday had come out in open to refute the charges levelled against Murthy.
