British Airways increases flights on Mumbai-London
route
Mumbai:
In the line with its plan of expansion in the
Indian market, British Airways announced on Thursday
that it had increased the flight frequency on Mumbai-London
route to two from one per day and would soon increase
the frequency on Delhi-London route. In addition to
BA 138, which departs from Chhatrapati Shivaji International
Airport of Mumbai at 0240 hours, the airways would
introduce a new flight (BA 126) which would take off
from the same airport of Mumbai at 1340 hours everyday
and arrive at Heathrow Airport London at 1805 hours,
the British Airways said in a statement today. The
new flight took off from Mumbai airport on Thursday.
The airline has also announced that it would double
the number of flights on Delhi-London from one to
two per day, from early next year. To maximise the
customer connectivity and leverage domestic market,
the British Airways has signed a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) with Air Sahara, the statement said. British
Airways has also extended connectivity to Bangalore
from today, making it the first-ever international
airline to offer direct flights to London Heathrow
from five cities in India, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai,
Bangalore and Kolkata.
