Tatanagar Express train catches fire in East Godavari

VIJAYAWADA: The Yesvantpur-Tatanagar Superfast Express, going from Bengaluru
to Jamshedpur, caught fire early morning on Tuesday while passing through East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. No casualties were reported but the pantry car where the fire started was gutted completely.
The fire that started at 2 am was prevented from spreading by detaching the
connecting bogies. The train was stopped as soon as the fire was reported to
the staff. The overhead power supply was also switched off quickly.
Consequently, train services on the Vijayawada-Vizag sector came to a halt
but was resumed later in the morning. Secunderabad-Howrah Falaknuma Express,
Yesvantapur-Howrah Duronto Express, Tirupati-Puri Express, Hyderabad- Visakhapatnam
Godavari Express, Chennai Central-Puri Express, Secunderabad- Visakhapatnam
Duronto Express, Secunderabad-Bhubaneswar Visakha Express, South Central Railway
said.
