Fort Lauderdale (Florida): A 53-year old woman passenger, Nathalie Tremblay, flying from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florioda, US, to Montreal, in Canada, by Air Canada, has been arrested for making a joke that an unidentified bag in the overhead section had a bomb.
The incident happened when a flight attendant wanted to know whose was the
black roller bag that was stuck in the compartment. “There’s a bomb in it,”
Tremblay said and laughed, according to WPTV. The flight attendant reported
Tremblay to the captain.
The Terminal 2 at the airport was shut to conduct search operations in the
aircraft. The plane had to be evacuated. The Broward County bomb squad did the
checking, Sun-Sentinel reported. report. After clearance, the plane was allowed
to take off with its passengers.
Tremblay was taken to a jail and was charged with making a false report of
a bomb, according to another report. She, a Canadian, was travelling with her
boyfriend who, in turn, admonished her for cracking such dangerpous jokes onboard.
The incident happened on Tuesday. The airport (FLL), a busy intercontinental
gateway after Miami, is in Broward County, South Florida, United States. Florida,
known for its beautiful beaches and other tourist spots like Disney, is a peninsular
