Ayodhya Ram temple to be consecrated on Jan 22, says Trust

AYODHYA, Oct 26: The Ram temple in Ayodhya, currently nearing completion of its construction, will be consecrated on January 22 next, according to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

"The date for ‘Pran Pratishtha’ on January 22 is confirmed,” Champat Rai, general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, said in a post on X.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the consecration ceremony will reflect the feelings of crores of devotees.

The construction of the temple had begun soon after the Supreme Court’s landmark judgment in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit in 2019. Next year, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was created to oversee the construction of the temple. The foundation stone for the temple was laid on August 5, 2020.
