He was brought to Delhi from Dharamsala in the morning when he felt uneasiness
in breathing, according to Tenzin Takla, his private secretary.
He had attended an international conference in Delhi on April 6 and had returned

Addressing an international conference of educators in New Delhi on Saturday,
he had said people must achieve internal disarmament first before seeking external
disarmament. He wanted a subject of compassion to be made a part of school curriculum.
Last week he had also said he is not seeking independence for Tibet from China
but a "reunion' of Tibet on the basis of mutually acceptable terms.
The 14th Dalai Lama had fled to India in early 1959 after the Chinese invasion
of Tibet and has been living in exile in India at Dharamsala.
