The three protest plans:-

  • Storming of State, local and Federal courthouses across the US if Trump is removed
  • Armed demonstrations in cities on January 17
  • March on Washington DC on inauguration day, January 20

Meanwhile, watch for:-

  • House voting on resolution to ask Pence to invoke 25th Amend to remove Trump - on Tuesday
  • House voting to impeach the President if Pence refuses - on Wednesday
  • Biden's inauguration - on January 20

WASHINGTON, Jan 12: President Donald Trump declared emergency in Washington DC on Monday with immediate effect in order to prevent any threat to public property and safety and to "avert the threat of a catastrophe" in the Capital in view of the inauguration of the new President and Vice-President on January 20. The emergency is in force from January 11 to January 24.

He said an emergency situation exists in the District of Columbia and therefore ordered the Federal agencies to coordinate with local authorities to deal with the "emergency conditions resulting from the 59th Presidential inauguration."

It has been reported that Republican supporters are planning another siege of the Capital as the inauguration nears. Trump's men are also planning protests in all the State Capitals against the election of Democrat Joe Biden as the new President.

THE PLAN: The demonstrators are planning storming of State, local and Federal courthouses across the US if Trump is removed; armed demonstrations in cities on January 17; and, March on Washington DC on inauguration day, January 20.

The official events to watch for are: On Tuesday, the House will vote on a resolution to ask Pence to invoke 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office immediately; On Wednesday, it will vote to impeach the President, if Pence refuses ; and, On January 20, Biden inauguration.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Trump and Pence had a meeting for the first time since the Capitol rampage.

According to news agency reports, there is speculation that there may be threat to Biden and Kamala Harris, Vice-President-elect.

Following the declaration of emergency, acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf, in charge of emergency powers, resigned, taking the number of resignations from the Cabinet to three. Earler, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao (Senate R-leader McConnell's wife) and the Education Secretary Betsy DeVos had resigned in reaction to the mayhem of Wednesday when protesters had rampaged the Capitol.

The White House issued the following statement on Monday: "Today, President Donald J. Trump declared that an emergency exists in the District of Columbia and ordered Federal assistance to supplement the District’s response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from the 59th Presidential Inauguration from January 11 to January 24, 2021.

"The President’s action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to coordinate all disaster relief efforts which have the purpose of alleviating the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population, and to provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures, authorized under Title V of the Stafford Act, to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety, and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe in the District of Columbia.

"Specifically, FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize, and provide at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency. Emergency protective measures, limited to direct Federal assistance, will be provided at 100 percent Federal funding.

"Pete Gaynor, Administrator, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Homeland Security, named Thomas J. Fargione as the Federal Coordinating Officer for Federal recovery operations in the affected area."
