MUMBAI, Dec 18: A Dubai-bound Air India flight was diverted to Mumbai on Saturday
after it developed a technical snag. Flying from Hyderabad, the A320 VT-EXV
aircraft flight AI-951 (Hyderabad-Dubai flight) was carrying 143 passengers.
The plane landed without incidents and the passengers disembarked safely.
According to the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the aircraft
encountered a problem with its yellow hydraulic system.
Alarming rise in mid-air glitches
A Go First from Mumbai to Goa had to return on Wednesday after facing a technical
problem. The plane was carrying 181 passengers. The aircraft was changed and
left in the evening with the passengers.
"Go First flight G8 371 from Mumbai to Goa did an air turnback due to technical
reasons," the airline said.
"At Go First safety of its passengers and crew is of paramount importance.
The airline sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused to its passengers," it
said.
Go First said it will operate 42 direct flights per week, connecting Mumbai,
Hyderabad and Bengaluru, from the new international airport at Mopa in North
Goa, which will begin operations on January 5.
An IndiGo jet 6E-1715 from Kannur to Doha was diverted to Mumbai due to a
technical snag on December 2. An alternative aircraft was arranged by the airline.
The DGCA said the Airbus A320/CFM LEAP had faced a yellow hydrogen leak.
A SpiceJet flight from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, bound for Kozhikode with 197 passengers,
including six crew, had an emergency landing at the Cochin International Airport
Limited (CIAL) on December 2 evening following hydraulic failure.
Previously, Spicejet had faced a dozen issues during the year.
