Selfie kills 4 girls in Kitwad Falls at Karnataka, Maharashtra border |
The deceased were among a group of 40 students from a madrasa at Kamat

BENGALURU, Nov 27: Four girls in a picnic team from a school in Belagavi (Belgaum)
district in Karnataka slipped and drowned in the Kitwad Falls in bordering Changad
tehsil of Kolhapur district in Maharashtra on Saturday while taking selfies.
The deceased were among a group of 40 students from a madrasa at Kamat Galli
in Belagavi. Five of them lost their balance while taking selfies and dropped
into the waterfall. One was rescued by the locals while four drowned in the
gushing waters. The Kitwad Falls is situated on the Karnataka-Maharashtra border.
The only survivor was taken to a hospital, so also the others who were declared
dead.
The deceased were identified as Ruksar Yusuf Bisti, Tasmiya Ashpak Bisti, Kudusiya
Patel and Asmiya Mujawar. They were aged between 17 and 20 years.
