3 Noida software engineers, driver die in car mishap near Gurgaon

A group of five computer sofware engineers were returnng to Noida from a visit to Udaipur when a truck crashed into their car on Delhi-Jaipur Highway near Gurgaon in the wee hours of Tuesday.

NEW DELHI, Aug 17: Three sofware engineers died, alongwith their car driver, when a truck hit their car near Gurgaon on Tuesday. Their two other friends were also injured.

The three in a group of five computer sofware engineers were returnng to Noida in the National Capital Region, east of Delhi, from a visit to Udaipur tourist destination in the State of Rajasthan after a long weekend when the speeding goods-laden truck going from Delhi to Jaipur in the opposite direction on the other lane smashed the divider and crashed into their running car near Gurgaon township in Haryana, 40 km from west Delhi border, in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The deceased were IIT alumni and worked in Adobe in Noida, according to reports. The accident occurred at around 2 am on Delhi-Jaipur highway near Sidhrawli village. The police said the truck driver lost control of the vehicle and it hit the divider and the car and overturned. The driver ran away. The police shifted the injured to hospital.

Those killed have been identified as Adarsh Kumar (23), native of Meerut in UP, Kumara Pujita (25), native of Bengaluru, and Ms Muskan Tiwari (24), native of Kolkata, and driver Deepak Singh (25), resident of Gajipur village, UP.

The two injured were Ms Priyanka Sultania (22), native of Kolkata, and Jasnur Singh (27), native of Patiala in Punjab. They are undergoing treatment, police said.

Police said Ms Priyanka survived with a fracture in her left leg and was admitted to a private hospital. She was pulled out of the wreckage using cranes and earth moving machines. Jasnaur was next to the driver and had minor injuries only.

All the five friends were working in Noida and they had gone out on a long weekend to Udaipur.
