Cloudburst in Kullu: Seven killed, hundreds of tourists rescued
Heavy rain is continuing. Parvati valley and Manikaran are the worst affected. Hundreds of tourists have been rescued. As flash flood hit Manikaran, a favourite destination for tourists, several camping sites were washed away. The cloudburst occurred at 4 am. There is devastation in Malana nullah. In Choj four people drowned. Several people are trapped or missing. The cloudburst mainly hit Choj nullah in Parvati valley. The bridge over Parvati river was badly damaged.

KULLU, July 6: Several people are believed to have died when a cloudburst and landslides triggered by heavy rains washed away settlements in Kullu valley in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday.

Hundreds of tourists have been rescued from the region. The NDRF is looking for missing people. Seven people are reported dead. Roads have been damaged, hampering rescue operations. The Parvati river bridge was damaged in flashfloods triggered by cloudburst. Parvati valley has taken the brunt.

Dozens of houses and camping sites were damaged in Choj village. There is considerable damage to properties in Manikaran valley of Kullu district. The clouburst occurred at 4 am. There is devastation in Malana nullah and Paravati valley. In Choj four people drowned. Several people are trapped or missing.

Manikaran is situated in Parvati valley, 45 km from Kullu town and 35 km from Bhuntar. It is northeast of Bhuntar in Kullu district. Manikaran with its hot springs is a destination for tourists.
