Starlink satellite broadband for Ukraine as Russians disrupt internet

WASHINGTON, Feb 27: SpaceX's Starlink has activated its satellite broadband
in Ukraine after Kyiv pleaded for its services as the country is suffering significant
disruptions to internet service since Thursday when the Russian invasion began.
"Starlink service is now active in Ukraine," Elon Musk tweeted on Saturday,
adding "more terminals en route." The tweet came after Ukrainian Minister of
Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov urged Musk to provide Starlink services
to the country.
"While you try to colonize Mars - Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your
rockets successfully land from space - Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil
people! We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations," Fedorov had tweeted.
Starlink has over 2,000 satellites providing internet access across the world.
SpaceX launched 50 more Starlink satellites into the Earth's orbit on Friday.
