Gulping three puris together, Hyderabad student chokes to death
HYDERABAD, Nov 26: A Class six student was choked to death after trying to eat three puris together in one go during lunch hour at his school in Hyderabad's Begumpet on Monday. The dry and stiff puri got stuck in his throat. The police have registered a case and are investigating a complaint made by his father, Gautam Jain.

This one is disgusting! Licking every popsicle before packing for delivery
KOZHIKODE (Kerala), Nov 25: An employee of an ice cream factory in Kozhikode has been caught in a video licking every ice cream stick (popsicle) before packing them for delivery. The disgusting video has gone viral over the social media. The police shut down the factory, Ice Me, and suspended its food safety registration. The accused packer has also been detained and samples sent for lab tests. Now all popsicles will taste different! Beware! Similar incidents were reported from UP also recently and a law was made soon after to ensure such things won't happen in the future. So they won't.

Rats gnaw at dead man's eye in hospital; Relatives say otherwise
PATNA, Nov 25: It happened in Bihar's Nalanda medical college hospital a week ago. A man who died in the hospital had his one eye missing when relatives came to claim his body. The hospital staff blamed it on the rodents. The relatives did not take the story although in Government hospitals rats scurrying across for tidbits is a possibility. But dogs are more visible around hospital wards, say, in the national Capital!

Polar bear, a rare visitor, shot dead in Iceland as it posed a threat!
REYKJAVIK (Iceland), Sept 22: A polar bear that posed a threat to the resident of a cottage situated in north-western Iceland was shot dead by the police on Thursday. It was the first one seen in the country since 2016. Sightings are relatively rare and occasional visitors come by ice floes from Greenland. Loss of sea ice is driving bears to the land in search of food. Attacks have been reported rarely from Canada, Greenland, Norway, Russia and the United States.

Who killed whale spy 'Hvaldimir'? Norway cops still investigating!
OSLO, Sept 19: The Russian beluga spy whale 'Hvaldimir' was found dead in Norwegian waters. It was first spotted in Norway near Russian waters with a planted harness around its neck with a camera to gather intelligence five years ago. It was found dead on August 31 and police investigation is going on still as there was allegation it was shot dead.

What is a beluga whale: Beluga is a toothed whale, more than 15 ft long and weighing 1,500 kg. They are more intelligent than an average human being. Whales generally have large brains, some species having the largest among all animals. It is claimed they love human beings. Whales and dolphins are mammals unlike the formidable shark which is a fish but attacks humans.

Excise men seen 'eating free pizzas' from parlour they raided
HYDERABAD, Sept 20: The Excise Department raided Ariko Cafe Ice Cream Parlour in Jubilee Hills of Hyderabad and claimed they seized 23 pieces, totalling 11.5 kg, of whisky ice cream being sold to children early this month. Several people were arrested. Now the parlour has come out with a statement that the freeloader Excisewallahs raised false charges against them even while eating their pizzas and drinking coffee free of cost (caught on camera). They also demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000.

TIRUMALA (Andhra Pradesh), Aug 30: A family of devotees from Pune visited the world famous Sri Venkateswara temple at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh wearing 125 kg of gold recently. The family included two men, a woman and a boy. They were wearing the gold in ornaments like chain, necklace, bangle, sunglass etc. They were seen guarded by security escorts.

Nearly one lakh devotees visit the temple in a day. The offerings received in the hundi alone in the month of July was Rs 125 cr. Lord Venkateswara is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Ladoo is the favourite 'prasadam'.

LOS ANGELES, Aug 19: Five people, including Hollywood's 'Ketamine Queen' Jasveen Sangha, have been arrested in actor Matthew Perry’s death, it was announced on Thursday by US Attorney for the Central District of California Martin Estrada. Sangha was the source of Ketamine supplies for Perry. Perry, best known for his role as fan favorite Chandler Bing on 'Friends' sitcom had a sudden death due to drug overdose. The 54-year-old actor was found in the jacuzzi of his home in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles on October 28, 2023. His death sent shockwaves through Hollywood. The indicted were profiting off Perry. The doctors charged $2,000 for a vial of ketamine that cost them just $12. The actor was injected at least three times with Ketamine on the day he died.

AC falls on two boys talking on the ground: One dead, other critical
NEW DELHI, Aug 19: An 18-year-old was killed on the spot when an airconditioner from the second floor wall fell on him and his friend who were on the ground below. He was sitting on a scooter and talking to his friend, who was also grievously injured and has been admitted to hospital in a critical condition. The incident happened in Karol Bagh on Saturday. BENGALURU, Aug 19: A furious mob in a locality in Bengaluru reacted to dozens of bikers performing wheeling stunt on the road posing a threat to the passersby last weekend. Bomb threats at malls across India, which is which?
NEW DELHI, Aug 19: About 30 malls across the country received bomb threats on the same day, Saturday. Those were hoaxes. But there was one that was not a hoax but a mock. The DLF Mall of india in NCR-Noida also vacated and the bomb squad was rushed but the police said later it was a mock drill.
