In view of an approaching western disturbance,
scattered rain/thundershower is likely in western Himalayan region from 5th May
onwards. Heat wave conditions prevailed over isolated pockets of Punjab. In view
of likely thunderstorm activity during 5th to 7th May, some more respite is expected
from hot weather conditions over northwest India where the maximum temperatures
are 42-44° C. Isolated
rain/thunderstorm is likely in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand
from 5th May onwards; isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely over the rest
of the region from 5th May onwards; rain/thundershower is likely in a few places
in West Bengal and Sikkim; isolated rain/thundershower is likely in north coastal
Orissa during the next 24 hours and mainly dry weather thereafter; isolated rain/thundershower
in Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh during the next 48 hours and increase
thereafter; isolated rain/thundershower is likely in the rest region; rain/thundershower
is likely in many places in Andaman & Nicobar islands. isolated rain/thundershower
is likely in south Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep; isolated duststorm/thunderstorm
is likely in Rajasthan from 5th May onwards;
and,
mainly dry weather in the rest of the country.
WARNING: Squally winds reaching 40-50 kmph
is likely over Andaman islands and adjoining sea areas during the next 24 hours.
Sea condition will be rough around Andaman islands.
