     Current meteorological analysis suggests scattered to fairly widespread rain /thundershower is likely to continue in north-eastern States and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 2-3 days. Heat wave conditions continue to prevail over isolated pockets of Vidarbha, East Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh. Current met analysis suggests a slight fall of 1 to 2°C during the next 24 hours. However, in view of likely thunderstorm activity during 5th to 7th May, some respite is expected from hot weather conditions over north-west India. The highest maximum temperature of 45.2°C in the country was recorded at Khajuraho (Madhya Pradesh).

     Isolated rain/thunderstorm is likely in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from 4th May onwards; isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in the rest of the region from 5th May onwards; rain/thundershower is likely in a few places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; isolated rain/thundershower is likely in Orissa during the next 24 hours; rain/thundershower is likely in many places in Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh; isolated rain/thundershower is likely in the rest region; rain/ thundershower is likely in many places in Andaman and in a few places in Nicobar Islands; isolated rain/thundershower is likely in south Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep; isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Rajasthan from 4th May onwards; isolated rain/ thundershower is likely in Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours; and, mainly dry weather in the rest of the country.

     WARNING: Isolated heavy rainfall is likely in Andaman islands during the next 48 hours. Gale wind speed reaching 60-70 kmph is likely over Andaman islands and adjoining sea areas during the next 24 hours. Sea condition will be rough to high around Andaman islands. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea.
