Two Iranian women held for assaulting cop in Bangalore, get bail

     Bangalore: A Bangalore Court on Tuesday granted bail to the two Iranian women, who were arrested for assaulting a male policeman after failing their breathalyser tests last Thursday night. The duo were given bail on furnishing a security of Rs 30,000 each. As per the judgement of the court, the duo has to report in a local police station every fifteen days and cannot leave the country without the court's permission. The local court had earlier extended the judicial custody of the two women till February 23. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Rajiv Gowda had posted the hearing of the bail application of Farima (26) and her friend Azar Fasle (29) for today. The accused Farima and Fasle were nabbed last Thursday, the former for punching traffic sub-inspector Ganesh Rao and biting his hand and Fasle for pushing a press photographer, resulting in his camera being broken. The two women were staying at an international college. The police have also seized their passports and driving licenses.
