Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand had heavy snowfall on Friday evening.
Subsequently, the temperature plummeted at most places across the Himalayan
region.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had on Thursday forecast heavy to
very heavy snowfall in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand for two days, Friday and
Saturday.
Rain was also forecast for the tourist hill stations like Mussoorie, Nainital and
Chakrata.
On Friday evening, Himachal Pradesh's Kufri had snowfall to the delight of the
tourists. In Uttarakhand, Harsil received fresh snowfall.
The higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand had snowfall earlier this
month leading to cold wave conditions in the region around.
