NEW DELHI: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is launching a weekend travel package starting November 21 called the Golden Triangle, connecting the three historic cities of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
The two-day rail tour package to Agra and Jaipur from Delhi is by Shatabdi Express train. “This is one of the innovative travel packages which eminently suits those travellers who are planning a short duration getaway. The package allows them to experience the magnificence of some of the most famous monuments in India,” IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director A K Manocha told the media.
Shatabdi train, among India's fastest trains, is airconditioned with onboard meals. The package is for every Saturday and Sunday. It begins November 21 and covers one night and two days. The boarding point in Delhi is the New Delhi railway station and it first goes to Agra.
After visits to Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Id Matuddaula and lunch the guests board the Agra-Jaipur Shatabdi. The night halt is at Jaipur. The next morning, after breakfast, guests would be taken to the famous Amber Fort, the 16th century palace known for large ramparts, gates and cobbled paths.
In the afternoon, the guests will see the City Palace museum. Afterwards they will take the Jaipur-New Delhi Shatabdi Express.
The package is set at Rs 9,444 per person on a double occupancy basis.
