Three Jindal engineers 'drown' in Odisha pond
BHUBANESWAR: Three engineers, who were working for a private power plant in Odisha's Angul district, drowned in a pond in a vilage, Mahitala, under Nisha police station, near their company, in Angul district of Odisha, on Saturday. Their bodies were recovered on Sunday morning.

They have been identified as Samir Nigam (28), of Lucknow, Avtar Saroya (25) of Patiala in Punjab and Manoj Yadav (31) from Alwar in Rajasthan. The deceased, who were employees of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL), had gone for a pleasure trip to the nearby village pond.

The incident of drowning happened late in the night, the police said. They have not ruled out foul pay.

Earlier, on March 28, two students of a private engineering college had drowned in Birupa river near Haveli village in Odisha’s Kendrapara distirct.

Three youth had also drowned in Birupa near Nikirai village on March 18 while taking bath.
