Srinagar: The Kashmir Valley experienced fresh snowfall and Srinagar, the Capital of Jammu and Kashmir, had showers in the past few days forcing the closure of 300-km Srinagar-Jammu national highway.
Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Amarnath, Sheshnag and many other places in the high reaches also experienced
snowfall.
Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 1.8 deg Celsius on Monday, up from Sunday'. In Pahalgam it
was 0.2 degree Celsius, a rise of over 3 degrees. Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 3.2 degrees Celsius. The resort had six inches of snow. Leh in Ladakh region recorded a low of minus 6.4 d Celsius, three degrees up. Kargil had a low of minus 10.2 degrees Celsius against a minus of 19.0 degrees the previous night.
The Met department has forecast more heavy rain and snowfall at several places in the State.
