February 22, 2010 | Yoga centered films made in USA, Canada |
Nevada (US):Two yoga centered short movies - 'Homeless Yoga' and 'The Yoganator' - have been made in USA and Canada. In 'Homeless Yoga', an executive who loses
everything, gains the 'true' life back with yoga help. He does yoga in the park
with other people in the similar circumstances. Directed by Linda Matarasso and
edited by John Hurej, it stars Mike Celia, Laura Collu, and Dany Gehshan. Shot
in Toronto (Canada), its tagline is: 'What do you do when you lose everything?
YOGA!' In 'The Yoganator', directed by Will Shivers, a teacher of yoga teaches
the class through dramatic illustrations and flashbacks. Produced by Heidi Snoe
with cinematography by Paolo Durazzo, it stars Jon Braver and Will Shivers. Hindu
statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, said that seeing the increasing
popularity in the West, India should launch extensive research into yoga and help
promote its authentic version worldwide. According to Patanjali, author of the
basic text, the Yoga Sutra, who codified yoga after being founded by Yajanavalkya,
yoga was a methodical effort to attain perfection, through the control of the
different elements of human nature, physical and psychical, Zed, who is president
of Universal Society of Hinduism, added. |
