Chennai:Students of the National Institute of fashion Technology (NIFT), exhibited their talents and skills at a fashion show here on Wednesday. At the NIFT's annual cultural fest, 'Fashion Spectrum 2010', students showcased fur garments, sports wear, evening wear and
a whole lot of other creative designs. At the three-day event held from February
08 to 10, around 50 undergraduate and graduate students exhibited their creativity.
Thanika, a student said the designs showcased at the event helps them to draw
inspiration from other fellow students' design. "We feel good about showcasing
our juniors' and classmates' designs," said Thanika. S. Devdoss, the Institute's
director said that the event is being held to develop the overall personality
of the students. "Basically, we conceived this idea of conducting fashion spectrum
as an annual event only to give a kind of overall platform particularly the leadership
quality, organising capability, communication ability and above all personality
development...so through these various activities because students themselves
organise this," said Devdoss. Besides providing a platform for the fashion industry,
the annual event of NIFT also helps students to gain exposure about each other's
area of expertise. |
