RISHIKESH (Uttarakhand), Oct 12: Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani
visited the Badrinath and Kedarnath temples and offered prayers at the shrines
on Thursday morning. He was accompanied by family members.
Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) vice-president Kishore Pawar welcomed
Ambani. He performed poojas at both the shrines and donated Rs 5 cr to the committee.
The shrine visit came after Ambani reclaimed the title of the richest Indian,
replacing Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani. Adani had suffered an erosion of
his wealth as a consequence of the Hindenburg Research report. Ambani's wealth
registered a meteoric rise from Rs 1.65 lakh cr in 2014 to Rs 8.08 lakh cr in
2023. Adani wealth registered a slide to Rs 4.74 lakh cr, according to the Forbes
India Rich List 2023.
Last year also the Ambanis visited the Badrinath and Kedarnath temples. They
regularly visit various temples. Last month, Ambani visited the Siddhivinayak
temple in Mumbai alongwith his wife Nita, elder son Akash Ambani, daughter-in-law
Shloka Mehta and grandson Prithvi Ambani. Last year he visited Guruvayur temple
in Kerala and donated Rs 1.5 cr for annadanam. Previously he had darshan at the
Tirupati Venkateswara temple in Andhra Pradesh and donated Rs 1.5 cr to the
temple trust.
More frequently Ambanis visit Rajasthan's Nathdwara Krishna temple, said to
be his family deity.
