BHOPAL, Oct 25: Bajrang Dal members vandalised the sets of 'Ashram,' filmmaker
Prakash Jha's web series, in Bhopal on Sunday. They had taken objection to the
title.
Ink was thrown on Prakash Jha's face and some vehicles were also damaged. One
of the crew of the film team was caught and beaten up. The incident took place
as the shooting of the third season of 'Ashram' was going on at Old Jail area
of Arera Hills.
The attackers shouted slogans like "Prakash Jha Murdabad", "Bobby Deol Murdabad"
and "Jai Shri Ram." They said 'Ashram' starring Bobby Deol was an assault on
Hinduism and they will not allow its filming till the title is changed.
Bajrang Dal leader Sushil Surhele asked, "Does he have the guts to make such
a film (showing guru was abusing women) on a church or madrasa?"
In a statement, the Producers Guild of India condemned the attack and called
for immediate action against the attackers.
Similar attacks were staged on the sets of the Deepika Padukone-starrer 'Padmaavat'
by Karni Sena.
