PM's call to strengthen bonds on Diwali

     Kuala Lumpur: Pime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has said that Diwali will help strengthen the bonds of all Malaysians. “In this national endeavour towards greater integration, all Malaysians bear a collective responsibility to respect each other's sensitivities and celebrate each other's culture,” the Prime Minister said in his Deepavali message. “As we all know, Deepavali celebrates the triumph of good over evil. It is my hope that in celebrating the emergence of light out of darkness, you will be inspired to face the challenges ahead with faith and vigour, so that you may achieve all your goals and aspirations. “Let us join hands, multiply our efforts and forge ahead with one objective irrespective of race and religion, to take our beloved country to ever greater heights of glory, distinction and excellence,'' he said.
