KOVALAM BEACH A world-famous beach resort 16 km south of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) city, Kovalam has been a favourite haunt of tourists since 1930s. Lovely coconut palms fringe the golden beach.
A rocky promontory and three crescent beaches are the major attractions. Foreigners throng Ayurvedic parlours that have sprung up all over the place. There are also yoga and meditation centres.
